“Now, you’re all booked for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tonight it’s the raw food special tasting menu-”

Colt interrupted Ash now. “Raw?”

"Tomorrow, your morning yoga will finish at nine a.m. for you both."

“Finish… sorry, did I fucking hear correctly, finish at nine?”

“Yes, it starts at seven-thirty,” Ash continued.

“What the -”

“My husband is just so excited to learn-” April jumped in.

“You can go to breakfast after yoga, then you have some downtime...” Ash practically undressed them both with his eyes.

Colt rolled his.

“Most guests choose leisure activities in the afternoon, like kayaking, or a hot air balloon ride-”

Colt nodded to Ash’s wrist. “Your tattoo,” he said simply.

Ash glanced at the fern leaf on his wrist that poked out of his shirt sleeve. “Yeah?” Ash replied, attitude dripping off him, daring them to comment, to judge.

Fine, Colt would spell it out for Ash, since he was clearly being defiant. “Where did you get it?” Colt asked.

Ash glanced down at his wrist. “Locally.”

April stepped in. “My husband needs to get some work done on a tattoo, we were hoping you could recommend a local tattoo artist?”

Ash’s gaze flicked over them again. “There’s no tattoo studio in town, I’m afraid.”

“Then where did you get yours done?” Colt asked again.

“A friend... he’s recently certified but hasn’t got a space or anything, he’s got the equipment though-”

“He any good?” Colt asked.

Ash unbuttoned his sleeve and shoved the white shirt material up his arm, revealing a very neat, stylized fern leaf.

“He take cash? He have time for me?”

Ash’s eyebrows shifted up a notch. “I could ask him.”

“Do.” Colt nodded.

Ash got out his phone and tapped away. Then put it down, nodding. “Done.”

Colt watched Ash a moment longer. “How well do you know him?” Colt asked.

Ash smiled devilishly. “I’m fucking him,” he said, half proud, half daring Colt or April to recoil.

Colt kept his face neutral without any effort. He couldn’t care less if two guys were fucking, it wasn’t anything that bothered him. “That’ll be my afternoon leisure activity. Getting a tattoo fixed.”

Ash nodded. “So evening meal is early as you know, then afterwards there’s a fireside chat…”

“What now?”

“Where all the guests come together for a mindfulness session-”
