Her tongue brushes back over mine, her mouth molding against me like it was born to be there, like its sole purpose was to kiss me and only me.

She pulls back with a sweet little sigh, her lips curving into a smile that’s dreamy and a little triumphant. I can’t help a snicker and lean up to brush my lips across her smooth skin again.

I start painting her jawline with the tip of my tongue, then suck her earlobe. She likes that; I can tell by the way she shivers and the soft groan that oozes out of her mouth.

I do it again, gripping her a little closer just as my phone starts to ring.

I ignore it. I seriously have more important things to do right now.

“You gonna get that?” She kisses my cheek, panting against my ear as she tries to talk and kiss me at the same time.

I grunt, figuring that’s all the “No” I can manage.

But then it starts dinging. One text message after the next.

Whoever wants me is being pretty damn persistent about it, and it suddenly occurs to me that it could be Luke.

The idea is a jolt to the system, and I gently roll Lauren off me and walk across the room to grab my phone.

She stays put, resting her head on her hand and watching me. I’m relieved to see it’s just my mum, updating me on family stuff. My sister is coming to back to Auckland for her birthday, and she wants to arrange a family dinner. She’s giving me all the details one text at a time rather than paragraphing it.

I send her a quick reply, then set my phone back down, gazing across the room at the beauty on the floor.

I need to stop kissing her. We’ve got work to do, and there are still a lot of moves to learn.

Crossing my arms, I study her and wonder, once the work’s done, will the kissing happen again, or was that a onetime thing?

The way my heart rebels against that thought is a pretty fast answer.

There’s no way that can be a once-only kiss. I’ve tasted her now, and I’m going to have to taste her again. Over and over.

Walking back across the room, I hold out my hand. The second she takes it, I help her to her feet. The smile in her eyes, that sweet smirk on her face. Oh yeah, I am done for.

Luke is gonna maim me good, but man, it will be totally worth it.

LAUREN

Iwas a little worried things would get awkward after the first time Jack and I kissed, but when he reached for my hand and pulled me to my feet, he smiled at me, set my senses sizzling with a sexy little wink, and we got back to work.

I’m now lying on my bed, reliving every microsecond of our kiss and then the make-out session we got caught in yesterday as well. Monday morning is about to dawn, and I’ve spent my weekend dancing and kissing and laughing and joking and wondering where the heck this thing with Jack is going.

But I don’t want to worry about that. I just want to enjoy what is. Jack thinks I’m beautiful, I think he’s gorgeous, kissing is fun, and let’s not think about tomorrow.

“Good idea,” I murmur, rolling over and trying to catch some more shut-eye.

But I can’t.

I’m too hyped up about this dance routine and maybe catching Jack before he leaves for work. He’s on the early shift.

I sneak out of my room and use the toilet before creeping down to the kitchen. He’s at the dining room table, sipping coffee and scrolling through his phone. The moment he spots me, his eyes light with a grin. “What are you doing up? You know it’s only four thirty, right?”

“I couldn’t sleep.” I perch on the edge of the table. “And maybe I wanted to give you a morning kiss before you left for work.”

His smile is adorable, and I quickly peck it, enjoying the coffee tang on his lips.

“Give me some more sugar,” he murmurs against my smile, and I happily oblige.

He pulls me onto his lap, and I curl against him, trailing kisses from his lips to his neck. His whiskers tickle my sensitive lips, but I don’t care. Everything about Jack is kissable.
