I glance at him and consider his words. “Are you thinking it might be better to hand them over instead of taking them out?”

“Not my call. Probably something the club should vote on. But I’m not thinking about the club right now. I’m thinking about you. What do you want to do?”

I take a sip of my beer as I consider his question. Knowing they’re in jail would be satisfying. I can torture and kill them, but the suffering is short term versus a lengthy prison sentence. But I shake my head. “No, they need to die. Sending them back to face a trial isn’t a sure thing. And it would mean those women they terrorized having to go through it all again.” I take another sip. “Not all rapists earn a conviction. Then where would we be? Plus, they could cause trouble for the club and I won’t have that.”

Puma taps his bottle against mine. “I figured as much, but it’s your decision.”

“I wish there was a way to let the women they hurt know that they don’t have to fear them any longer.” I muse.

“I might come up with something.” Spark says. “Let me think about it.”

“We should still put it to a vote.” I add. “We have members who are former military. I don’t want to cause problems just because I want vengeance. If anyone has a problem with my killing them, then we can go with the alternate plan of handing them over.”

“I don’t think anyone will have a problem with those bastards dying. But we’ll have Church in the morning. Put it to a vote.” Puma says. He takes another drink as he watches Hunter deliver beer to Spock and Rush while they shoot pool. “You and Hunter ok?” Puma asks.

“Yeah. We talked. He knows everything now. No more secrets.” I say.

“Good. I like him.” Puma says. “But if he hurts you, I’ll kill him.”

I chuckle. “If he hurts me, I’ll kill him. You can help.”

Puma grins, his smile widening when Alisa returns. He opens his arms so she can slide onto his lap.

“How are the kids doing?” Puma asks her.

“Sleeping. Desdemona and my dad are going to bed.” She replies.

“Should we send a prospect to watch them?” I ask.

Puma glances around the room. Hunter is clearing off tables while Smooth covers the bar.

“Max is covering the cameras.” Spark says. “I can relieve him. Let him take a break and watch the kids. I have some work I want to do.”

Puma shakes his head. “Go, play with your computers, and send Max to the media room.”

“How are you doing?” Alisa asks me.

Considering her question, I realize I feel better than I have in years. “I’m great.” I tell her. “Really great. I have Hunter back in my life. We’re good. I’m happy.”

“I’m glad.” Alisa says. “I like him.”

Puma grunts, making her laugh as she snuggles into him. “Not like that, my caveman. I like him for Chill. And the club.”

He kisses the top of her head before taking another sip of beer. “You reconsidering building a house?” Puma asks me. “We’re going over to look at the property sometime tomorrow.”

As SOA, I was third in line for picking out a lot and scheduling a build. Puma and Wildcard are ahead of me. My plan was to select the lot and build a house later. But now that I have Hunter and Slade in my life, a chance to start a family, I want to get the house built sooner rather than later. “I want to build soon.” I tell him. “Slade needs a home.”

“That’s what I thought.” Puma says. “Which is why I already talked to Wildcard and he’s willing to hold off on building his home until yours is done. He’s fine living in the clubhouse.”

“Thanks, Puma. I’ll have to thank Wildcard. I appreciate it.”

“One condition.” Alisa chimes in. “Pick a lot near ours. Elina will be very unhappy if you don’t.”

I chuckle. “She’s building a harem.” I say, making Puma groan while Alisa and I laugh at him.

“What are you working on?” I ask Alisa. “The charity event was a success. How much did you end up making?”

“A little over $150,000.” Alisa says proudly. “We’re thinking of doing another one or maybe try something different. I’m working with a group that’s doing a celebrity poker tournament to earn money for cancer research.”
