I can only gape at her as I try to process her words. How did we go from telling each other ‘I love you’ to this? “What the fuck are you talking about? I didn’t set you up. How could you think I would do something like this? I’m fucking trussed up here, too.” I remind her.
“Right. Except they mentioned you joining in on their fun.” She says. I’m watching her, but she’s no longer looking at me. Her eyes roam the room as if searching for a way out. She even shifts her body around to see behind her before turning her focus to her bindings.
We’re both hanging from a steel beam that’s barely eight feet off the ground. I can’t tell the purpose, but it’s solid and holds our weight without a problem. She flexes her body, pulling her knees up to her chest before lowering them back down.
“What are you doing?” I ask her. The only response is her glare. “Chill, come on. I didn’t set you up. Why would I do that? I love you.”
She shakes her head at me as she pulls her knees back up to her chest, but this time she continues to lift her legs until her feet wrap, touch the ropes holding her up. If this situation wasn’t so fucked up, it would be hot.
“Come on, Chill. Speak to me. Where are we? Who has us?” I beg her. “I remember seeing Abbott grab you. I didn’t see who got me. Why was Abbott here and what does he want?”
Chill studies me as I study her. I can’t tell what she’s thinking, but at least she isn’t looking at me like she’s planning my death, so I take that as a win.
“Abbott and Billet.” Chill says. “And I think the colonel is on his way.” She finally answers in a tone as chilly as the room.
“Why? What do they want? This makes no sense.” I respond.
“Did you tell them where we were?” She asks me, ignoring my questions.
I frown. “No, why would I? I haven’t spoken to them since before I went AWOL.”
“So how did they know where to find us?” Chill asks. “I sure as hell didn’t tell them. How did they know we were going to be outside the casino if you didn’t give them a heads up?”
“Why do you keep thinking I’m working with them?” I argue. “I’m tied up, too!”
“Except they’re willing to untie you if you’re willing to join them.” She says and now I’m really confused.
“Join them for what? What are they doing? Why are we here?” I ask her. “Please, just tell me what you know. Maybe we can figure this out.”
“There’s nothing to figure out.” She snaps at me. “Those fuckers captured me on orders from the colonel. They want to kill me because of the dirt I have on all of them. Dirt, I used to get you an honorable discharge.” She tells me, then swears. “Fuck, that’s how they knew where to find me. I gave the colonel 1% as the address to use when forwarding your stuff. Fuck, I’m an idiot. I never considered him coming after me.”
She’s no longer talking to me, but I’m still listening. “Wait a minute. You have dirt on the colonel? Why? What kind of dirt?”
“You honestly don’t know?” She asks me.
“Chill, right now, the only thing I know is my name, your name, and that fact that I love you. Everything else has me confused as fuck.”
Chill opens her mouth to speak, but then closes it when we hear voices. “Play like you’re still out.” She tells me. “But get ready to act.”
I can’t ask her to clarify on what I need to do, so I close my eyes and just hope like hell I’ll figure it out.
I relax my body, forcing my muscles to relax. I hear two people enter the room and recognize their voices as those of Abbott and Billet.
“So the cunt is awake.” Billet says as I sense them moving to stand in front of Chill.
“If it isn’t Dumb and Dumber.” Chill says. “Who let you two out of your cages?”
I hear a sound of flesh hitting flesh, followed by Chills’ grunt. I want to react, but I know I need to trust her to handle herself.
“That’s the best you got?” she sneers. “I’ve had dead men hit harder than you.”
“Fucking bitch.” Billet says. “You think you’re tough? Thought you had us, didn’t you? You fucked up, all to protect your fuck buddy here.” I let my body relax when I sense one of them moving closer to me. “Figured he’d be awake by now. Don’t want him to miss out on the fun. We’re going to have fun fucking you again. We’re taking your ass and your cunt, bitch. Maybe we’ll let him fuck you one more time before we end you both.”
Their laughter has my blood boiling when I realize what they’re saying. Now it all makes sense. The real reason why Chill left me. All I want to do is break free and beat them both until they’re a pile of mush. Until not even their mothers could pick out their pieces.
“I wouldn’t pat yourselves on the back just yet.” Chill says. “By now, my club is looking for you and when they find you...”
“We’re smarter than a bunch of loser bikers.” Abbott replies. “No one knows we’re here. If anyone checks, we’re in West Virginia, staying at the colonel’s hunting cabin. Your bikers won’t be able to prove we did a damn thing to you.”
