Killian nods, and then it hits me.

Oh my god.

“You killed him! Didn’t you?” I throw my hand over my mouth when I realize I’m screaming in the hotel hallway. “I thought you were against murder.” I sputter.

When we were in the safe house, I could tell he was up to no good when he told me he had “a plan” to handle his da. And eliminating is as good a plan as ever.

He holds my stare, “I didn’t.”

I can see it in his eyes.He did it.

After a split-second of freaking out, it might be wrong of me, but I feel a sense of relief. Killian’s in charge now and won’t let anything happen to me.

Killian’s in charge now!

“Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, you’re the head of the Irish Mob now?”

He dips his head low and doesn’t answer. I can tell he’s not happy about this.

“Didn’t want to disturb you guys,” He looks over at Declan funny, then continues. “I just wanted to tell you in person in case you didn’t see. Always know you’re safe, Nora. I won’t let anyone touch you.” He says with meaning, then turns and walks back down the hall.

“Kill,” I yell, “Thank you again for saving my life.”

He turns right before he gets on the lift, “Anytime, Nora. You can always count on me.”

I turn to Declan, “How is this even my life? I have an in with the head of the Irish mob,” I whisper scream.

He chuckles and shrugs, “I have no fecking clue. Maybe Jackson was right, and someone really should buy the movie rights.”

Seriously.

“Oh, and Dec?” I call as I walk back into the room.

“Aye?”

“Maybe next time, put on some clothes before you answer the door,” I smirk, and his eyes widen, realizing he is standing there buck arse naked.

It’s been a long night.

We’re finally back in London, pulling outside our house. I feel an overwhelming sense of serenity. I’m safe and loved, and finally, I feel like I have a place in the world where I can live as myself for the rest of my days.

As Nora.

It’s early morning, so I’m surprised but pleased to see Penny and Maeve outside the house, patiently waiting for our arrival, Bacon by Maeve’s side. Though, more surprised Agnes is not with them.

The second Maeve spots me. She breaks down with uncontrollable sobs.

Oh no.

I aggressively try to get my seatbelt off; of course, it’s stuck. Declan reaches over and helps. Then, as fast as I can, I’m out the door to get to her. Throwing my arms around her, holding her tight as we bawl into each other’s arms.

I hear soft sniffles from Declan and Penny behind us. The past few days have taken a toll on everyone.

Penny bends down and kisses me on the cheek. “I’m happy you’re home safe,” She whispers and rubs my back, leaving the three of us to have a moment.

While I was gone, I missed Maeve deeply and worried about her every day, even more than Declan at times. She has become quite attached to me, and honestly, I was worried she thought I had left them again.
