Without warning, her pussy clenches, and she starts shaking as her orgasm takes over. I hold her hips, my thrusts not letting up. “You… naughty… girl!” I roar, fucking her, in some sick animalistic way, wanting my seed to finally impregnate her as I come deep inside of her.

We lie in silence for a second, catching our breath. I can’t believe that escalated so fast.

“Hmmm.” Nora smiles. “Why haven’t you invited me to your office before?”

Something snaps when she reminds me I invited her to the office, and I’m up and off her instantly.

This isn’t like me.

I need to get my brain sorted because having a quick fuck in the office isn’t really what we should be doing before I tell her we need to leave for the states tomorrow.

I straighten her dress and pull her lifeless body up and off my desk, walking us over to my couch.

She eyes me suspiciously. “Angel, sit down, please,” I tell her when she hesitates.

“Why did your tone change in a flash? What’s wrong?”

I shake my head, annoyed at myself but also in awe at how she can make me so crazed within seconds. “I lost my head when your filthy mouth opened,” I smirk. “I called you here today for a reason.”

“Oookay,” she says hesitantly.

I scrub my hands up and down my face, then reach around and palm the back of her neck, rubbing my thumb over her pulse.

I love the feeling of her under my hands, getting to feel how alive she is, giving me the strength I need.

“Dec?” Nora whispers.

“I received an email from your lawyer. The case has been moved up.” I hide my flinch so she doesn’t panic.

To my surprise, she shrugs. “When? Why are you all stressed about it?”

I gulp down my unease. “We leave tomorrow.”

Those three words sent her pulse spinning, her chest gradually rising faster and faster.

“What do you mean?” she whispers. “How is this possible?” Her eyes flicker to mine, tortured with disbelief. “I’m not ready for this, Dec,” she mumbles. “Why did they change it now? After years of trying?”

“The prosecutor made a deal with the defense attorney, and the judge granted them an earlier date.” I shrug. I don’t know the specifics.

“Oh god.” She jumps up and starts pacing. “What if Conor’s acquitted? What if I have to live in hiding with bodyguards for the rest of my life?” Her voice breaks as she crumbles to the ground.

She struggles with her words, strangled in her throat as she starts to cry.

“I needed to prepare myself. I needed to memorize everything I can’t forget to say on the stand. I can’t get this wrong.” She covers her face with her hands, shaking her head back and forth.

Okay, I need to get her under control. I knew she would break down, but she’s in a bout of hysteria, and I’m not sure she ever realizes her spiral.

I reach down and pick her up in my arms. “What if it was all for nothing, and my parents never get their justice?” she whimpers into my chest. “What if Conor attacks me anyway?”

“Okay, Pip. I need something from you,” I announce, breaking her thoughts up.

“What?” she murmurs.

“I need you to dig deep and get out of this frantic state. None of those things will happen because I will raise hell before I let them, so I need you to be strong and remember why you’re doing this. We leave tomorrow to meet your lawyer and the prosecutor, then you’ll have a couple of days to go over it, and we’ll do this together.Use me. Lose yourself in me.You know better than to think this is all on you. I don’t want to see you like this again. Aye?”

“Aye,” she sighs.

“You’re not weak. You’re strong and have endured too much to freak out now. Where’s my spitfire when I need her?”
