“Stop what?” I ask, confused.
“Making me cry. I don’t cry, yet I’ve cried more in the past year than I have in my entire life.” She snuggles in close to my side. “I love you, Declan. Thank you for leaving me a note today. I missed them.” We stand in silence, with my lips pressed to her head.
“I love you too, angel.”
And I always will because she’s the only one I see.

I glance at the clock. Where the hell is this eejit? The meeting starts in five, and Wills is not answering his phone.
Ten minutes ago, he was supposed to be in my office so I could brief him about Logan Hale. It took Logan not even two days to contact me after our meeting, and I don’t want to keep him waiting. He’s clearly eager to talk to us.
Feck it. I’m going to get him. I have no patience. I want this meeting over with to get back to my girl and go to lunch.
I already know today will be long once I get out of here. I plan to take Nora to meet Archie, the kid I mentor. I met him through our charity this past year, and we bonded instantly. Archie’s mam was a drug addict, dying from an overdose early on, so he’s taken care of by his elderly nan. She means well, but it’s not enough. He’s fallen into a bad group of kids and has so much more potential than that.
Afterward, we’ll go for a late lunch like I promised Nora. What she doesn’t know is that I called Bennett this morning, and he’s meeting us. I was ready to send him the plane to fly him over, only to my surprise, or maybe not, considering he’s supposed to look after Nora, he was already in London.
I round the corner to Wills’s office and burst in, not thinking to knock, immediately wishing I did.
Wills’s hands are on the curve of Sadie’s hips, grinding her down on what I can only presume is his hard-on. I clear my throat, breaking it up like a dick, just to get the reaction I want from Wills, and it doesn’t disappoint.
He practically growls like a wild animal and covers Sadie. God forbid I see even a glimpse of skin. “Fuck right off, Declan.” He yells.
Wills Taylor… the most possessive bastard I’ve ever met. Sadie would be covered from head to toe if it were up to him.
Sadie giggles and shoots me a grin over her shoulder as she pulls down her shirt over her heavily pregnant belly. She’s due any day now.
“Sorry, Dec,” she gets off Will’s lap and walks over to kiss me.
“Aye, no worries, Lass,” I lean down and kiss her in return, “How are you feeling?” Sadie’s due date is soon, she’s convinced she will go late since she gave birth to Charlie two weeks late. Wills is not convinced.
“Ready to get this girl out of me?” She laughs.
“Why the hell are you sorry? He’s the one that barged in on us.”
“Oh, let me see, maybe because we’re in a place of business. Not our bedroom.” She scoffs.
Wills adjusts himself, walks over, grabs Sadie’s face, and kisses her hard on the lips.
“I’ll call you later, my beautiful girl.” He walks past me toward my office. “Let’s go, arsehole,” he mutters.
“It’sasshole!”Sadie yells from still inside his office.
“I’ll say asshole if you give me your perfect one tonight.” He calls back.
Luckily the office is dead right now.
“Oh my God, Wills! Shut up, will you?” She covers her face, embarrassed.
“You’re a sick feck.” I say.
He shrugs, unimpressed. “Takes one to know one.” We both laugh. It’s the truth.
The second we walk into my office, my phone rings, and it’s Logan apologizing. His practice is going longer than expected, and he has to call me later or tomorrow.
“You must be kidding me. I had to stop with Sadie for this bloody bloke to cancel on us.”
