When I reached the SUV, I had a huge smile on my face. My dad looked at me quizzically and then looked at the phone in my hand. I think he finally understood that I got a message from Andy.

“Alright, we will take two vehicles. Luna Sophia wanted to go so she could catch up with her sister. Beta, your family will ride together and follow us to the White River Pack. Any questions?” Alpha Bennett asked as he looked us over.

“No, alpha,” we answered in unison.

We climbed into our SUV and started our road trip to the White River Pack territory.The closer we got to Andy’s territory, the more nervous/excited I became. Dad kept stealing glances at me through the rearview mirror. It was as if he could feel my anxiety about the whole situation. As I watch the houses pass by from the backseat, I can’t help but think how much my life has changed in the last twenty-four hours. My mom got sent off somewhere so I could stay focused on a task for Alpha Bennett. I was asked by Alpha Bennett to become Lead Trainer and Warrior. I was asked to go to a tournament and place within the top four. I met my mate at a restaurant. A lot has happened. I’m still trying to process it all.

I’m brought out of my stupor as we pull up to the White River Packhouse. Andy is standing outside along with his father and another man I assume is Alpha Blaine. As we exit our vehicles, we line up like we always do alongside Alpha Bennett and Luna Sophia. We are introduced to Alpha Blaine and Beta Edward Silvers and Andy. After the introductions, Andy walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed me soundly. When we broke from our kiss, we noticed everyone looking at us. I hid my face in his chest and he shielded me from everyone.

“What?” Andy said nonchalantly.

Alpha Blaineshook his head and stated, “Andy, why don’t you and your mate join us in the conference room when she has recovered from her embarrassment. Hmm?”

“Yes, Alpha,” Andy replied as he held me close.

Alpha Bennett looked Andy over from head to toe. He shook his head as he stepped away without saying a word.

“Hi Beautiful. I missed you,” Andy said after theywent inside and left us outside by ourselves.

“I missed you too. Those rumors are horrible.At training this morning, I was met with the most vicious glares and …”

“Ssh ….I got you. Don’t worry about that. I am so sorry you had to go through that by yourself. Did anyone come to your defense?” Andy inquired while he held me close.

“No, dad was delayed in getting to training this morning. Tom didn’t know anything about what was going on.I didn’t know about the rumors until the meeting with the Alpha at 9:30,” I sniffled.

“Hey, it’s alright. You’ve got me now. It’ll be alright. I promise. Let’s get to this meeting. It’s bound to be adoozy,” Andy replied sarcastically.

“I know. May I have one more kiss before we go up, please?” I pleaded as I looked up at him.

“All you have to do is ask and I will grant you what you wish,” Andy replied. He kissed me softly and gently.

We made our way to the Alpha’s conference room. He knocked and we waited for the ‘come in’ before we entered. We walked in hand-in-hand.We entered to all eyes on us. What else was I expecting, the meeting was about us. Holy Moly. I just want this day to be over already.

Alpha Blaine stood up and walked over to us. “Congratulations on finding your mate.”

We both bowed respectfully. “Thank you, alpha.”

“Now, have a seat so we can get down to business, hmm?”Alpha Blaine stated as he went to his seat at the head of the table.

“Yes, Alpha,” we said in unison as we sat down next to each other. Our families both looked atus with smiles on their faces. You could see the pride they had.

“Bennett what are we going to do with Bree and Andy? I understand that Bree isgoing to participate in the tournament and does not want to let you down. Is this correct?” Alpha Blaine inquired.

“Where did you hear about that?” Alpha Bennett asked Blaine with a straight face.

“It doesn’t matter where I heard it, I want an answer to my question. Is she going to participate?” Alpha Blaine asked him one more time?

“AlphaBlaine if I may. Alpha Bennett asked me to train those who are going to participate in the tournament. That is the commitment I wish to honor,” I stated as I looked at Alpha Bennett as if I wanted him to confirm what I just said.

“Is that correct Bennett?” Alpha Blaine demandedin a sharp tone.
