“No, he didn’t say anything about a timeline to choose.Take your time and really get to know them. You got into this situation because of my brother, your uncle, whom I still cannot conveniently reach. What was he thinking when he put out that list? And to put his own niece on it without so much as a heads up,” dad exclaimed as he tucked me in and ran his hand down my arm.

Dad and I continued to talk for a while until we both fell asleep. I woke up feeling my better, not a 100%, but much better. When I finally opened my eyes, I found two pairs of green eyes watching me. Drake and Elias had both pulled up chairs to watch me sleep and protect me.

“Good morning, beautiful. How do you feel this morning?” Drakegushed as he got out of his chair to lean into me for a kiss.

“Mm. What a way to wake up in the morning.Between the two of you, I’m getting spoiled,” I whispered after the kiss.

“That’s the point. Now, how are you feeling this morning? You didn’t answer me,” Drake asked once again.

“GoodMorning Bree. You look much better than you did yesterday. So much better,” cooed Elias as he leaned in for a kiss as well.

“Will you let her answer my question beforeyou start all of that stuff. Bree, please answer me. I’m growing impatient,” Drake growled as he held my hand.

“I’m feeling better. I really won’t know how much better until I try to sit up or move around.My stomach seems to have settled down which is a good thing. My head seems to be less ‘spacey’ if that makes sense,” I replied as the door to my room opened and Tom entered carrying clothes for me to wear.

“She’s finally awake! I thought you were never going to wake up. It’s like 7 in the morning. What took you so long to wake up sis?” bellowed Tom as he came over and placed the clothes on the foot of the bed.

“Only 7 in the morning.You make it sound like I slept the day away. Sorry I kept you waiting. Why did you bring me clothes? What’s going on?” I questioned him trying to change the subject.

“Oh yeah, sorry.Alphas Drake and Elias, Alpha Bennett requests your presence for breakfast and a short meeting afterward. I am to remain with the fair Breonna while she eats her breakfast and prepares for the day. Also, while she waits to see if she will be discharged from the hospital this morning. Alpha Bennett is waiting for you two in the pack house dining room as we speak,” Tom announced in his formal voice as he bowed to the two alphas.

“I guess that’s our cue to leave you for a short time. Follow your directions so you can leave. See you later,” Elias commanded as he kissed me on the temple before he exited the room.

“See you later honey. Remember to do what the doctor tells you. I’ll call you later,” Drake cooed as he kissed me on the cheek before he left the room to join the others for breakfast.

After everything was said and done, I was able to be discharged from the hospital. I took a shower and changed into some comfortable jeans and a nice blouse. I had to wait with Tom at the hospital for Elias to pick me up since they wouldn’t let me leave the hospital. Unbelievable.

Elias came into my room looking very handsome in a pair of darkwash jeans with a light blue button-down shirt with the sleeves already rolled up to the elbows. He was already sexy, but Lord help me. I don’t know how he could have gotten sexier in his jeans, but he did. He was a walking, talking sex machine. Wowsers!

“Hello beautiful. Are you ready to go to my territory?I have all your stuff already loaded in the SUV, all I need is you,” Elias noted with a huge smile on his handsome face.

“Yes, I’m ready. I think Tom is tired of babysitting me.I can’t wait to see your territory,” I gushed as he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my lips softly.

“Then, let’s go. Your chariot awaits my dear,” Elias grinned happily as he led us out of the hospital towards his vehicle. He opened the door to the passenger door. He helped me in and buckled my seatbelt. Then, he closed the door with a chuckle.

When he got in the driver’s sideand buckled his seat belt, I announced, “I could have buckled my own seatbelt you know. I’m not a baby anymore.”

“I know, but I like taking care of you. I only get a week to show youhow much you mean to me. I want to make every minute and action count. Please forgive me if I go overboard. I consider you precious cargo, someone to be treated very carefully and with respect,” he replied with a smile that should be outlawed. Then, he leaned over and kissed me on the lips before starting the vehicle. “I almost forgot. Drake couldn’t get away from the meeting to say goodbye, so he wrote you this letter. He said to give it you after we left.”

“Thank you. Is it alright for me to go ahead and read it? Or should I wait to readlater when I am alone?” I questioned him as he began to drive away from the pack hospital.

“You can go ahead and read it.I don’t think it matters. It’s your choice,” Elias stated as he began to navigate the back roads towards the highway.

I sat there for a few minutes and stared at the letter. Elias stole a few glances towards meevery now and then but didn’t say anything. I decided to go ahead and read the letter. When I opened it, I was amazed at how beautiful the handwriting was. Usually, males don’t have the best handwriting skills, but Drake, he must have taken a handwriting class or something, wow!

Here’s what the letter said:

My Dearest Bree,

I’m so sorry I cannot see you off before you leave with Elias. We are in the middle of something very important. It has to be important for me not to be able to see you. You have become very important to me in so many ways.

I hope you have a good week with Elias. He’s a good kid. He deserves a chance to win your heart just as much as I do. I know you will have fun with him, just be yourself.

Take good care of yourself and Elias. Stay safe and stay alert until I see you again.
