“What?” I asked my dad who washaving a hard time holding in his chuckling. “What’s wrong with you dad?” I asked him as he was turning red.

“What took you so long to come down Bree?” he teased me as he continued to chuckle at my expense.

“None of your business.Now, what am I supposed to do next?” I questioned as I looked from dad to Alpha Bennett who was trying to remain neutral.

“Here are the results of thevoting from the pack. I must say, I am kind of surprised at the results. Shall we go in and announce the results to everyone else?” Alpha Bennett inquired as he watched me read the results on the paper.

“Yes, let’s go inform everyone. The results are very interesting indeed,” Iagreed with him.

“Is there anyone you want to remove from the list? We can do that before it becomes public knowledge Bree,” Alpha Bennett statedas he examined me closely.

“I’m not sure about AlphaLorenzo. Maybe I just need to spend a little more time with him. I didn’t get that much one-on-one time with him,” I explained as I handed him the list back so he could announce them.

“Okay. So, here is how we are going to do this. We will have them line up in front ofthe DJ stand. When I call their names, they will step forward and you will give them a rose. Sound good?” Alpha Bennett speculated as he looked from me to my dad.

“Yes, that sounds good. What about the others whom you do not call? What will happen to them?” I questioned him.

“Oh, I’ve already taken care of that. Don’t worry. Alright, here we go,” Alpha Bennett stated as he walked in ahead of my dad and me. I was nervous. This is the part I didn’t like. The part where I was going to have to hurt some feelings. Dad gave my arm a reassuring squeeze.

“Ladies and gentlemen. The time has come for us to announce the five Alphas who will be vying to become Breonna’s mate. We already know one. We will find out who the other four are in a few minutes. Alphas, when I call your name, you will walk up to Breonna, and she will give you a rose. Then you will stand over next to her father, Beta Theo. The Alphas whom I do not call must exit the banquet hall, return to your room, gather your belongings, and return to your territory. Any questions? Alright, Let’s begin.

We already know that Alpha Drake of the Grand Forks Pack is number 1. Alpha Drake, please proceed to Breonna and receive your rose. “Hi honey,” Drake beamed as he took his rose and kissed me on the cheek. Then he went and stood by my dad.

“I am not calling these names out in any particular order, so please do not be alarmed. Next name to be called is Alpha Elias of the Westwood Pack. Please proceed to Breonna to receive your rose. “Hello beautiful,” Elias praised as he took his rose and kissed me on the cheek. Then he went and stood by Alpha Drake.

The next name to be called is Alpha Rex of the Wildwood Pack. Please proceed to Breonna to receive your rose. “Hello, my lady,” Rex beamed as he received his rose and kissed me on the cheek. Then he went and stood by Alpha Elias.

The next name to be called is Alpha Travis of the Crescent Moon Pack. Please proceed to Breonna to receive your rose. “Hi gorgeous lady,” Travis gushed as he received his rose and kissed me on the cheek. Then he went and stood by Rex.

The last name to be called is Alpha Lorenzo of the Rock Springs Pack. Please proceed to Breonna to receive your rose. “Hello my love. You saved the best for last, I see,” he said as he dipped me and kissed me on the lips after he took the rose from me. Then he went and stood by Travis.

The pack gasped as he dipped me for a kiss. I don’t think they expected anyone to do that.My dad looked like he was about to jump on Lorenzo when he let me up. I smoothed my dress and stood back up. I mind linked dad that I was alright. I don’t think he believed me. It was then that I noticed the look on Alpha Bennett’s face. He was quick to mask it when he noticed I saw it.

Ladies and gentlemen. This concludes our program for the evening. Thank you all for attending and I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Please be careful getting home. Please let us know if you need assistance. Good night.” Alpha Bennett announced as everyone started to leave.

CHAPTER 7

And Then, There Were Four

I motioned for my five Alphas to come with me. Alpha Bennett wanted to let them know that we would be having a breakfast and an outing tomorrow morning. Then, we would set up a rotation schedule for me to go to their territories to get to know them as Alphas and as a regular person.

As the other Alphas were leaving, I wishedthem well in their search for their Lunas. I knew Ethan was going to be alright because he was giving his title to his brother, problem solved. My five alphas decided they would walk me up to my suite. I thanked them for a lovely evening, and I turned to go inside. Alpha Lorenzo was the one who spoke, “Aren’t you going to give us a goodnight kiss Bree dear?”

“She doesn’t have to give us a kiss goodnight. We all gave her a kiss a few minutes agowhen we accepted her rose,” defended Elias.

“She’s tired and needs to rest. Let her go in and rest. We will see her in the morning,”stated Rex as he got in between me and Lorenzo trying to protect me.

“Guys, all I wasasking for was a little kiss. Don’t get defensive. Geez. Good night, Bree. Sweet dreams,” Lorenzo soothed as he stepped forward to give me another kiss, but the others stood in his way. So, he bowed to me and turned away towards the stairwell. He went up to his floor.

It seemed everyone was holding their breath because we all let it out as soon as he was out of sight.“I think we need to keep an eye out for him,” Rex stated as he held his hand out for me. “Good night, Bree. Sweet dreams,” he whispered as he kissed my hand and then winked at me as he stepped back to allow the others to do the same.

One by one, they each bade me a good night and kissed my hand. Drake was the last one to say goodnight to me. He lingered for an extra few seconds and gave me a squeeze to reassure me that everything was going to be alright. I smiled at him, and they all turned and walked toward the stairwell. I entered my suite where I found dad and Tom waiting for me.

“Well, that was certainly an entertaining experience tonight.Care to tell me what that thing was all about with Alpha Rex?” dad blurted out as I walked into the living room.

“I will explain everything after I change my clothes. I need to get comfortable. May I?” I begged my dadas I gestured towards my clothing.

“Sure, go get comfortable. Do you want some chocolate ice cream?” dad inquired as I walked towards my bedroom.
