“I asked a few questions to a few people, I did not start any rumors Alpha,” Tatum answered truthfully.

“Tatum, I have always considered you a friend, why would you even question me like that?” I mewled.

“I just thought it odd that you found your mate in a restaurant,” Tatum stammered.

“What does it matter where I met him!” I shouted at him. “He was my mate! What gives you that right to question who he was to me?!” I shouted to him.

“I should have been your mate, not him!” He yelled at me. Then, he realized what he said.

“What did you just say?” I stammered and looked at him in disbelief.

“I should have been your mate, not him.”Tatum stated as growls were heard throughout the room.

“It’s not up to you. It’s not up to me. What did you do Tatum?” I asked him.

“What do you mean?” he stammered again.

“You started all this trouble, what else did you do?” I growled at him.

“Were you responsible for the attack on his pack?” demanded Alpha Bennett. “Answer me, Now!” he bellowed using his alpha aura.

“Yes, Alpha. I contacted some friends and they put togetheran attack to kill her mate.” Tatum blurted out.

Beta Edward lunged at him but was held back by Alpha Blaine. “Ed, let Bree handle him. He’s younger and stronger than you are. She can handle him. Trust me.”

“Alpha, with your permission, may I …?” I started to askAlpha Bennett.

“Yes, you may,” Alpha Bennett answered me without letting me finish my question.

Everyone in the room scattered giving us room.I gave Tatum a murderous look. At that point I hated him with every fiber of my being.

“Tatum, you are guilty of conspiring to attack another packfor the sole purpose of killing another wolf. How do you plead?” I asked him in a gruff voice.

“You cannot charge me with anything Breonna. You are not a ranked wolf,” Tatum announced to everyone in the room.

“She’s not, but I am. How do you plead to the charges she stated against you?” Alpha Bennett demanded.

“I’m guilty as charged. But I didn’t think my friends would actually attack his pack. I thought they would just kill him.” Tatum growled as he knew he fate was sealed.

“Well, you are responsible for his death as well as for four other deaths. Yourpunishment is death. Breonna is your executioner. Breonna if you will.” Alpha Bennett commanded in his alpha voice.

“As you wish Alpha.” I statedin a gruff voice full of emotion. I moved closer to Tatum who took several steps backward. “Why are you trying to run? Why don’t you try to put up a fight?”

“I have loved you ever since high school. I don’t want to hurt you, Bree.” Tatumstuttered.

“Oh, but you have hurt me deeply. You hurt me when you had someone kill my mate. When he died, it literally felt like someone tore my heart out of my chest. The pain was unbearable. I don’t know how I survived it. So, you have hurt me already,” I stated in an even voice. I’m not sure where it came from.

Tatum started to move in a circle, but I didn’t move. I stayed put like I was bored. I watched him like a hawk.When he saw that I wasn’t going to move, he lunged for me. I moved at the last second contacting his midsection with my knee. All you heard was a loud, oomph. I moved slightly to the right. I brought my fist down to the side of his face. Everyone heard a crunch from my fist.

Tatum tried to regain his composure.He stood up and blinked at me. He saw that I was not going to go easy on him. He lunged at me again. This time he grabbed me around the waist and tackled me. I used the momentum of the tackle to use my legs to kick him off of me and propel him off of me. As he came for me again, I extended my claws and dug them into his chest. I pulled out his heart. His body crumpled to the floor.

I walked over toAndy’s mother and father with Tatum’s heart in my hand. “Betas Edward and Angela, here is the heart of the traitor who planned the killing of my mate, your son. Please accept his heart,” I pleaded as I handed it to Edward and bowed to them.

“Thank you, Breonna for killing the person responsible for the attack on my pack and the one responsible for your mates death,” Alpha Blaine praised.

“You’re welcome, Alpha Blaine.Now, if you will excuse me. I need to retire so I can properly process what just happened,” I begged the alpha.

“Permission granted,” both alphas said at the same time.
