“There was, I’m not going on the hotseat.” I laughed.

“There have been a lot of questions about you and this handsome wolf…” Tina’s gaze slid over to Hugo. “Jenny’s an amazing healer, but she’s not one to keep a potential love connection to herself. She insisted that things had taken a turn between the two of you after everything went down with that ass Derek Jared and I’m hoping you’ll prove her right.”

“I plan on watching scary movies with this handsome wolf.” I squeezed his hand. “If I can ever get my work done.”

“Let’s just do it. I have an idea. Let’s make it informal. Set it up like two girlfriends talking. Maybe I can interview you?”

“Oh, I love that idea. We haven’t done our usual press junket for this episode, yet, since we were dealing with human laws and shifter traditions and there was so much we couldn’t talk about. Maybe we can use this footage in its place.”

“Excellent. Let’s do it.”

Where were Bjorn and Marissa? This wasn’t like them at all. I hoped they were interviewing guests.

Tina and I got lights, flags, and stands out of the van, and loaded them into a carriage.Still no sign of Bjorn or Marissa.

And they weren’t answering my texts. Their phones were probably on silent not to interrupt the movie.

There was a photo booth between two of the trucks. It was in use when we found it, but the guests were happy to hand it over to us so we could use it as a backdrop.

“This feels so good.” Tina shimmied in her seat as we settled. “Okay, let’s get started. The boys get hungry fast, and if these boobs get too full, they’ll bust right out of this dress. Milk everywhere. Tell me your favorite part of Wendy and Gabe’s episode.”

“I’m glad we had a chance to give them a date night tonight, since this episode had been such a whirlwind. Wendy and Gabe never gave up on each other. That their friendship was the most important thing, even when things weren’t going well.”

“How do you think their friendship made this episode different?”

Oh, she was such a natural at this. As much as I wanted her to take a break and stay home with those beautiful babies,The Mating Gamewould only benefit from having her as part of the team.

“We didn’t have a chance to do any of the meet cutes, or those moments when you see the couple first fall in love, which, I have to admit, are some of my favorite parts of dating reality shows. No one thinks it’s going to be for real, until it is. But with Wendy and Gabe, we didn’t have any of that. Instead, we had a chance to go much deeper, and watch their relationship transform into something they’d denied themselves for so long. It was beautiful to watch them connect on such a deep level. Who would have ever believed they’d reincarnated so they could be together? Cue the swoon.”

“I think you might have had an inkling.”

“I always knew Wendy was special. That’s why I took a chance on her.”

“What were your other favorite parts of this episode?”

“The makeovers, of course. Wendy had relegated herself to the most snooze worthy, middle-aged suburban lady wardrobe. Tragic. With my help, she’s got a closet full of clothes that celebrate those curves. Wendy’s swansong with her real estate career will be finding her own house in Woodland Park. They’ve decided they want to be close to Gabe’s pride. He might even go back to snowboarding.” I waggled my brows. “Once they find the perfect place, Wendy has agreed to let me help decorate.”

“That’s a big project. A whole new house. And starring in your own reality show.”

“A girl can wear many hats.”

“That’s exactly what I’m trying to tell you.” Tina tipped her head and gave me a grin that no best friend could ever resist.

“Yes, I want your help. I just know how these shows can become all-consuming. So promise me you’ll tell me if things get to be too much.”

“I promise.” But I’d have to keep an eye on her. Tina loved her work, and it was so easy to get wrapped up in the contestants' lives. If I had to, I’d film her at home taking care of those precious babies.

“I’m excited to be working together again. We’ll have to get started on our next episode right away.”

“Tell me all about our next contestant.”

“Her name is Hannah, and her episode is going to be so much fun. She won a contest to be onThe Mating Game.”

“Oh I love that.” Tina’s gears were already turning. “I bet she’s all in for the full Mating Game experience.”

“Oh, here she is! Look at this amazing purple hair.” Hannah had an excellent sense of style and we’d have to get creative with the makeover. She had come away from one of the trucks with a giant cheeseburger and an absolutely divine looking mudslide, complete with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. “She’s beenstaying at the chalet, on standby in case Wendy backed out again. So Marissa has already been working with her.”

Tina waved to Hannah, who held the cocktail up in acknowledgment. “Can you give the viewers a sneak peek of what you have in mind for her episode?”

Marissa came running over. Her hair was messed up and her makeup could no longer be considered camera ready.

“Bibi! I need to talk to you right now.” Her voice was a hoarse whisper.

I gasped. “Is everything okay?”

“Yes. No. Well, I don’t know.” She looked over her shoulder, biting her lip. “I just had sex with Bjorn.”
