“If you say so,” he said, standing up and collecting the glasses. “I’ve got work to do.”
“Go do it and I’ll clean up. We’ll be opening for lunch soon anyway.”
“Thanks,” he said. He had to get out of there where the floral scent of the women was floating around his head. More like the scent of Jasmine, he was sure, and he started to wonder if this move was really a good idea or something to add to his ever-growing confusion in life.

“How hot is he?” Jasmine asked when she and Lily were in the car and driving back to the shop.
“He was cute,” Lily said.
“Not just cute,” Jasmine said. “Hot. His hair was windswept as if he’d rushed over. He was almost annoyed to be there. I could see it in his dark eyes though he tried not to show it. Maybe he was looking to be on his best behavior for his mother.”
“Wow,” Lily said. “That is a lot to get out of a one-hour meeting when the guy barely spoke.”
She laughed. “He was impressed by the fact we grow most of our own flowers,” she pointed out.
“I did notice that and that his mother was mortified that maybe he didn’t look into our company. I don’t take offense to it,” Lily said.
“Nah,” she said. “Me neither. It’s all good.”
Lily waited a second and then said, “You noticed the tan line around his left ring finger, didn’t you?”
“I did,” she said. “His hand went there a few times as if he was missing it. Or didn’t want it shown. I can’t tell. There was still an imprint of a ring there, so must be it came off recently.”
“Guys like that aren’t the best to be around,” Lily said. “Not that I dated all that much.”
Jasmine had worked for Lily since almost right after Carl had passed away leaving Lily a young widow. In all that time she’d only known Lily to just date Zane seriously. Before that it was dates here and there but nothing to take notice of.
“Do you know from experience?” she asked.
“No,” Lily said. “But most will say it’d be a rebound relationship. Are you thinking of barking up that tree?”
“Woof woof,” she said, grinning.
Lily shook her head. “I don’t think he’s going to be too hands-on with the weddings and parties. It sounds as if that is his mother’s area.”
“What do you know about them?” she asked. “Has Zara said anything via Ren?”
Though she’d heard Ren didn’t have much to do with the marina and since he just moved back to the area recently, it wasn’t hard to figure out. But that didn’t mean he didn’t know something about who’d purchased the family business.
“Not really,” Lily said. “We don’t talk too much about it. I know that Tess has been coming in and talking with the new owners, but I didn’t even know their names or that it’s a mother and son.”
“It makes me want to know more about them,” she said, pulling her phone out of her purse. She was glad Lily was driving and could do a quick internet search.
“What are you doing?” Lily asked.
“Google is my friend. Let’s see what they’ve got to say about Wesley Wright.”
She put his name in, but nothing locally came up. She scrolled down and kept moving, but again, she couldn’t find all that much. Not even any social media pages. Geez, he should have his name on his business at the very least. Yep, just one article on that.
“Find anything?” Lily asked.
“No. Must be he doesn’t like social media. There isn’t anything other than the article on the sale of the marina.”
“Try his mother?” Lily suggested.
