Taking out my phone, I put it in the GPS and then placed the phone on the dashboard so he could see it.
We made low-key chitchat on the way. Neither of us brought up the car again. When we arrived in front of my building, he parked right across the street, then walked me up to my front door.
“Thank you for meeting me tonight,” he said as I stepped inside.
Turning around to face him, I nodded, playing with the strap of my purse on my shoulder. “Thank you for taking this so well.”
I still felt awkward, like I didn’t know how to talk to him. He’d seen me naked, for God’s sake, and now I was tongue-tied. Then again, we were in this situationbecausehe’d seen me naked.

“Duly noted.”
“I’ll text you my gynecologist’s address.”
“Do that. I’ll pick you up.”
“Not necessary. I’ll go directly from work.”
“Then I can pick you up from work.”
“I can get around on my own!”
He shook his head. "Bonnie, I don't do anything in half measures. You should know that about me. You don't want the car, that's fine. But know this: I am going to take care of you and our baby.”

"Well, I, for one, can't wait to find out what the occasion is this time," Declan said.
I made it a habit to gather the family whenever I had something to announce. I'd done it when I decided to sell my business, then when I decided to start a new one, not to mention all the parties in between, celebrating the sale of said business.
The whole gang had gathered, minus my cousin Kimberly and Sam, of course. Sam was already back in Honduras. Kimberly was living in Paris.
