I leaned across Nova to kiss Levi, brushing her lips on my way back. She was warm and curvy and sweet, and her kisses were somehow all those things, too. I trailed my lips down her throat and hesitated there, casting a quick glance at Levi. He nodded and gave up nibbling her ear to press his lips to the opposite side of her neck.
“We want to mark you,” I murmured and she sighed and tossed her head back.
“Yes, please.” She whimpered when our teeth pierced her skin, two tears running down her cheeks. It hurt, I knew it did, but once we licked away the blood, the skin healed quickly. And the pain should fade right away, but I hated that she had the least bit of hurt at our hands. From that point, we continued dropping kisses over her skin, suckling her nipples and dipping between her legs to taste her juices. Then we kissed each other, sharing them before gliding back up her body where Levi lay between her legs. He stroked her until she writhed and begged, before fitting himself to her opening and driving inside.
She squeaked then moaned and wrapped her legs around his hips while he rode her until they both reached completion at the same time. I lay beside her, toying with her breasts, taking little nips and sips until Levi fell to the side and Nova reached for me.
She was hot and tight and made for us. Someday we’d take her at the same time, but she was too new to lovemaking, and we’d risk causing harm. For now, I was glad to feel her muscles tense and release around me, milking me of every last drop of cum.
I thought that was enough, but somehow, we didn’t stop. Considering we had limited space in the tent, we managed to make love in a variety of positions, learning from one another what we liked, and what we liked better, until we were all too exhausted to move.
I wasn’t sure I’d survive a life with both of them.
And I didn’t know how I’d made it this far without their love.
Chapter Fifteen
Nova
How we’d ever come to this point, I had no idea. But I was nearly boneless with satisfaction, and my wolf radiated a joy I didn’t know she was capable of. The morning light glowed through the tent walls, showing that the storm truly had abated, and I lay curled up with my mates. Today we would leave for the Triple L Ranch. My original goal and one that had gone from a hopeful vagueness to one that shoutedhomebefore I even got there.
“Nova.” Levi’s voice was quiet, but I didn’t think Owen would wake up unless there was an explosion. He had passed out after all our shenanigans, and I suspected we’d have to wait a while for him to surface.
“Yes, mate?” The word felt great, tasted amazing in my mouth.
“Why don’t we pack up as soon as Owen finally returns to consciousness. We can be at the ranch by noon, or, we can head there in our fur and come back with a cart for our stuff.”
“Oh, I’d love—wait. I don’t want to meet the alphas naked. That sounds way too informal for my taste. What would they think?”
“The three of us arriving in full fur? I can’t see that they’d mind, but how about we take a run here first, then? We can just play in the snow, let our wolves get to know each other for an hour or so then trudge home with those big heavy packs.”
“She’s not going to fall for it.” Owen’s chuckle told us just how awake he was. “Levi, no woman wants to meet her new family without at least some kind of clothes on. It’s not proper—or something. So let’s play outside now then do that trudging thing. If we left our stuff here, it could be stolen by someone or damaged by animals.” He held up a hand before Levi could protest. “And I’m not going to haul it all up into the trees with ropes. Come on. It’s a winter wonderland out there.”
“How do you know?” Levi finally got a word in. “You haven’t been out there.”
“Well, it’s a late autumn wonderland, and I know because I’m going out to run around in it with my mates, the two hottest wolves in town.”
“It’s not a town,” Levi grumbled, but Owen already had the zipper open and was outside the door, starting to shift.
I pushed out on hands and knees, wanting to see his wolf. The mating marks on my shoulders stung when the cold hit them, but that did no more than make me smile. “Oh, it’s gorgeous. Come on, Levi! You’re missing out on all the fun.”
Owen’s wolf was gray and white and lean and streamlined, his fur long in anticipation of the coming winter cold. Well, mostly it had already arrived, but he took my breath away even more than the icy beauty that lay before us. He bounded into a snow bank and leapt out again, frisking like a pup.
My wolf was white from head to tail, and I’d noticed how full my fur was lately. Thicker than ever before. Did that mean we’d have just an extra-cold winter or would snow, like what lay all around us now, accompany it? The storm had moved out, but there were still a few flakes in the air as I chased Owen around the tent, waiting for Levi to join us.
Wolves have so much more freedom than regular people sometimes, and in this surprisingly deep snow, they were absolutely the best vehicles for moving around. Levi came out fully shifted, his fur darker gray with only a few white streaks, and Owen tore off upslope. We followed, with much kicking up of snow, and small creatures darting out of our path. We were hungry, but we weren’t hunting. Not at all. We were celebrating our mating, the joy of life. They’d told me between rounds of lovemaking in detail about their shepherd’s hut and all the work they put in their gardens. About their plans for a native seed saving business and more gardens to grow, both for the pack and to sell. Transport would be tricky, but they had plans for that, too. They were so smart and full of enthusiasm, and I loved them more for their ability to move forward instead of wallowing in the loss.
When we’d run until we could run no more, we planted ourselves in the tent for a short nap before packing up to leave. Of course, “nap” quickly became a euphemism for something that took more energy than resting, but it didn’t matter. Joy contributed to the ability to make love again. We could have stayed another night, but clouds were gathering, and we hurried to hang our packs on our backs and set a fast pace for home.
It sounded so good.
We were about three hours away, as it turned out, and arrived in the settlement to find a busy, happy crowd bustling around doing things that you’d probably find in any pack. In my old one, even. But the houses were so much nicer, many new and others older but well maintained. And there were children everywhere, of all ages, laughing and playing and helping adults with tasks. I knew within seconds that it was everything I’d heard and more. Owen and Levi waved to people they knew and hugged others, introducing me as their mate as we went. Not one person acted surprised, except for a few who teased that the two guys had finally accepted what everyone had known forever.
That they were mates.
There was a bit of chatter about their picking up a third along the way, but it was all in good fun and not the least bit mean. They led me up to a large log cabin where a pair of men and a woman stood. Their authority hung over them like a cloak.
The woman stepped forward first, something that would never have happened where I came from. She had her arms out and instead of going to my mates, who she already knew, she gathered me to her, pressed her warm lips to my cheek, and murmured, “Welcome. You were the catalyst for them. You know that, right?”
