Shh, some of us are sleeping! The feminine mind voice was not Levi’s nor was it mine. We hadn’t even mated her yet, and she could hear us? Speak to us? When did that happen? What kind of a mating was this?

Her eyes opened, wide, startled, and beautiful. It could be the best kind.

“Why are you both making so much noise? Has the snow stopped?”

“No.” Levi smiled down at her. “We’re sorry to disturb you. We were just wondering if you thought it was odd that we’re all so comfortable together.”

Comfortable might be a bad choice of words. My cock was stiff and weeping with pre-cum, and, under the thigh I’d tossed over Levi, his dick throbbed with life. No, not comfortable. But right. “It’s just right.” That described it. “Nova, did they have any matings in your old pack with more than two people?”

She blinked, clearly startled, and pulled back, but Levi stroked her shoulder and she settled back in. “More than two? No. Wait, I have heard about your alphas and their mate. Is that common at the Triple L?”

“Common? I don’t think so but there are several families like that. They seem very happy together.”

“I suppose everyone is different, so relationships could be, too. But I—” She looked from Levi’s face to mine and back again. “Are you implying that we might be?” Shaking her head hard, she nibbled on her lip. “I’m sorry. You’re just being kind to me, a foundling along the trail, a girl without a pack. And I’m taking that to mean you might want to take me on full-time. I really do apologize. I should get dressed.” Her cheeks heated; I could feel the warmth from here. “In fact, I think the snow is letting up. Why don’t I make a run for the ranch, and you two can stay here and enjoy your honeymoon.” She pushed up on an elbow. “I’ll let the alphas know you’re out here and will be along in a few days.”

In the blink of an eye, I crawled over Levi and Nova and landed on her other side. Having her in the middle felt right. Not that she’d get between us or that we’d not make love to each other. That would never be. But she needed us. We’d had all the years to get to know one another and build up a relationship. Nova, like the meaning of her name, was new to that. She’d set out all alone in the mountains to find a new life with only what lay in her pack. Not even a tent. That was quite enough bravery. Now, she had us to help when she needed it and to bolster her ambitions and applaud her achievements.

Chapter Thirteen

Nova

Things were spinning out of control, and my wolf was along for the ride. I’d been asleep, sort of a remarkable condition considering I was lying in a makeshift bed with two males I’d just met less than twenty-four hours before. But they were gabbing away until I had to wake up and say something. What a couple of chatterers, and what they were saying?

I’d say it’s up to her. Maybe she doesn’t want two mates.A lot of their words were blurry and hard to understand, for some reason, but that came through loud and clear. Had they been talking about me?

Levi’s fingers were stroking up and down my arm, the skin rising in goose bumps behind him, and I never wanted to move. But this was crazy. Maybe I hadn’t heard the two-mates thing at all. Why would they want me? Nobody had ever shown the slightest interest, and here I was with two of the sexiest males I’d ever seen. Who were not only mated to one another but newly so. What were the odds they’d want any part of me?

Nil.

We’d been talking as if we were sitting in a living room or something, not all warm and naked together, and the tension within me built until I couldn’t stand it anymore. I couldn’t have them. I was just being influenced by their love in the air. Only one solution remained, so I told them I was leaving. They deserved their time alone together before picking up the reins of their new life. But no sooner did I make my offer than Owen vaulted over Levi and me to land on my other side and there I was. Levi to my right. Owen to my left. And a woman would have to be an utter fool to not realize what that meant.

Maybe they just wanted to complete what a bunch of naked people in a tent would ordinarily do. And maybe I wanted that as well. My wolf might shut up afterward. It might be my only opportunity to be so close to these men. Life was throwing me a bone.

“Nova, we want to make love to you.” Levi’s voice was the deepest, smoothest I’d ever heard, and I leaned into him, wanting to feel the sound where it began deep inside him.

“Yes.” I had decided, and it was going to happen. One great pleasure to carry me through my days. “Nobody has to know. I promise, I won’t gossip.”

Owen growled deep in his throat. “What are you saying? You’re going to fuck us and then walk away like we’re not worth more than that?”

“Huh?”

Levi grasped my chin and turned my face toward him. “We’re not toys to be used and then tossed aside. I never would have taken you for that kind of female.”

“I what? I’ve never…I wouldn’t do that!” Suddenly I felt like a whole different kind of predator than wolf. “No. I mean, I can’t try to read more into it than sex. I understand.” All too well. In my old pack, women were always trying for any available male, even if he was too old to make it up and down the front steps of his house. I didn’t know of many who’d try to get in the middle of a mated pair, but if one of the mates passed away, a line formed outside.

Not literally but pretty close.

“You misunderstand.” Owen lifted my hand to his lips and pressed them to the back. A gentlemanly gesture usually more likely when everyone was dressed and at a social gathering. Or in a movie.

“I do? You don’t want to have sex with me?”

He rubbed my hand against his face before kissing my fingers. “No, we do. Very much, but not just sex. Can’t you feel it?”

“It?” If I chewed on my lip any harder, it would be a ragged mess.

“Nova, you’re our mate.” Levi picked up my other hand and kissed that one. “You don’t know? Your wolf isn’t telling you?”

“Nova?” Owen kissed my hand again.
