"Forgive you for what? You haven't done anything wrong," he said sweetly.

I looked away. I couldn't bear to keep his gaze anymore. I was too much of a wimp. "I know… but…"

"What is it?" he encouraged. He cuffed his hand around my wrist. "It goes both ways. Whatever it is, you can tell me, and Ipromiseit will be without judgement."

I finally forced myself to return his gaze. I gave him a sheepish smile. "It's just… I'm not very experienced."

His features softened. I could tell that he knew immediately what I was referring to. I was grateful that he didn't make me elaborate.

"You don't need to be. I will help you," He leaned up and whispered in my ear. He warily glanced at the door where there was a little window looking out into the hallway. Nix was still there, but he had his back turned away from us.

"Why don't you go tell him that we need to talk privately for a few minutes?" Cyburn suggested.

My cheeks burned. "Really?"

Cyburn's eyes stayed on me. He wasn't kidding. "Yes."

I felt so embarrassed.

"I don't know…"

"Do you not want to have private time with me?"

I looked at him and searched his eyes. "Yes, of course, I do."

"He won't ask questions."

I knew Cyburn was right.

If I wanted to chase this high with Cyburn and finally get some relief for these primal urges deep inside me, I was going to have to work up the courage to tell Nix to leave us alone for a little while.

"Okay." I nodded, feeling like I was floating outside of my body as I walked toward the door. "I'll do it."

"You won't regret it," Cyburn said. He looked pleased.

I knew he was right aboutthat, too. Something told me that he would be a phenomenal lover.

I opened the door. Nix turned to look at me. I was mortified, but I just blurted it out, like ripping off a Band-Aid. It would sting at first, but the burn wouldn't last forever.

"Hi, um—" I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

Nix distractedly glanced over my shoulder at Cyburn. "Is he alright?"

"He's fine," I said. "He just wanted me to come ask you if it's alright if we… talk alone for a few minutes."

"Me and him?"

I quickly shook my head, wishing I could melt into the floor. I knew what I was getting ready to say next would make itsoobvious about what we were getting ready to do.

"No… err…meand Cyburn. We would like some… err… alone time."

Nix's face flooded with recognition and his olive complexion turned a deep red shade.

"Oh." Nix cleared his throat and awkwardly adjusted his weight. "Right. Um. Sure. No problem."

He quickly turned away from me. He didn't look at me again when he said, "I'll keep lookout. Just let me know when you are finished."

Oh God, how mortifying.
