“At the end of the day, I’m here to advise you and guide you through the trials and tribulations of being a pack. If you all can decide together that this is a wonderful step for you, then you can do what would make everyone happy.”

“But no bonding?” Emmett asks. Morgan looks a little irritated with our Beta. Give him a break. He probably wants it just as bad as the rest of us.

“Again, at the end of the day, it’s up to you all as a pack. But my professional opinion is to wait until the tools for communicating are in place.” Emmett nods his head, but he seems to think her reasoning is cracked. I have to cover my mouth to stifle a laugh.

Robin hands out our paperwork, and it’s thick as Morgan speaks. “Let’s schedule a pack session for next week. Make sure everyone does the homework and we can discuss love languages and how you can better communicate with your pack.”

Kelsey nods and gives Robin and Morgan a smile. I hop off the bean bag first and pull her up. She smiles and hugs me. It feels so fucking good. I’m so happy we’ve been able to easily slide back into our comfortable relationship.

The pack is quiet as we leave the office. “I was expecting more,” I murmur to Kelsey.

She squeezes my hand. “I thought the same thing about my first session. But think about the good that came out of it. Shyla and Dom complimenting each other. As we get more comfortable and she gets a better sense of our pack, it will become more meaningful. I promise.” She kisses my cheek before kissing Emmett and Dom.

They have a date tonight and I’m working on not being jealous. I have a date of my own, with my beautiful girlfriends. I put all my focus on them as Emmett and Dom give me a kiss as well before getting into Dom’s truck.

“Let’s go home and cuddle,” Kelsey says, pulling me toward Shyla’s Land Rover.

Sounds like a wonderful evening to me.

Chapter 38

Thishasbeenalong time coming. If therapy was any suggestion, and from what I’ve seen, Emmett just rolls with the punches. I know for a fact that everyone else in the pack has a specific relationship with Emmett and that by no means is he put on the back burner in anyone’s mind. But I need him to know that for me as well.

We’ve only shared a few stolen touches and kisses. But when he was on my lap and we were fucking Kelsey during her heat, I know that this was going to be far more than a platonic relationship. Even if it was, I would be happy with this pack. But you’d have to be blind to not notice Emmett’s beauty and charm.

“So, where are we going?” Emmett asks, as I open the car door for him. He clearly doesn’t know how to handle this information. I’ve watched him, always opening doors and holding chairs for the other pack members. I want him to know that he is cherished, too.

“What, and ruin the surprise? I don’t think so.” I round the truck and get into the driver’s side. I feel nervous, but excited. Getting to know Kelsey in a romantic sense was different. We had known each other forever. Emmett and I don’t have that history. We’re starting from scratch. I suppose Shyla and I are as well with our friendship. We’re working on it, slowly but surely.

“Are we doing something big and manly?” Emmett asks.

“Is that what you would like?”

He shrugs his shoulders, and I recalculate in my head. “I love doing what Shyla and Kelsey want to do most of the time, but they aren’t the sporty type, you know?”

“Neither is Cameron.” I say. Okay, change of date plans. Instead of making a right, I make a left.

We’ve been driving for quite some time. I can tell that Emmett is a little nervous too, and I want to make sure that I don’t just constantly talk about the pack. I need to truly get to know Emmett.

“So, you and Kelsey met your cousin from a DNA site?”

He smiles. “Yeah, it’s been great getting to know her and her Alphas. I think they would all get along with everyone.”

“Once we get settled, we should invite them over,” I say.

“Settled?”

“I mean, clearly Kelsey’s house isn’t big enough. Our house also isn’t big enough. From what I hear, we would need to do severe modifications to yours and Shyla’s home to make it comfortable for everyone. You were the one who brought up living together in therapy.”

His dark blond eyebrows scrunch together. “Yeah, I guess I wasn’t thinking about logistics.”

“Five bedrooms, two nests, and how many home offices?” I say.

“Six, we should have a sex room that isn’t a nest,” he says with a smile.

“Okay, so we’re looking for a six-bedroom house with a finished basement, where we could put two separate nests. As well as a workspace for some of us. And you know Kelsey is going to want a pool.”

“Of course, but that could be built later.” I nod my head. Emmett pulls up his phone, looking through the Zillow app. The price point he is looking at is far more than I imagined. I make significant money with the company, but not millions of dollars like what he is looking at. “I have a lot of money,” he says.
