I nod. “Yeah. I haven’t been able to get her out of my mind. I’m in love with her.”
Joaquin smiles and holds out his fist. I bump it immediately. “Good move, bro. Impressive.”
“Where can I find her? I haven’t told her how I feel yet because I wanted to do it face to face so she knows I’m being genuine.”
“You really love her?” Dove asks. “’Cause you’ve only known her for a week.”
“Is there a time limit for love?” I ask. “Because I always thought it was one of those when-you-know-you-know kind of things.”
“Soooo you know?” The corner of her mouth lifts.
“I know. I think I knew the moment I ran into her at the airport.”
Dove and Joaquin giggle together and then Joaquin gestures to me with his head but speaks to Dove. “Dildo guy.”
“Right!” She laughs. “Dildo guy.”
Dove turns to me. “She’s not here, Aris. She left town.”
“Dammit.” I run my hand through my hair, frustrated I didn’t get to her sooner. “When will she be back?”
“Well…that all depends, I guess.”
“Depends? Depends on what?”
“How long it takes her to realize you’re not in Seattle because you’re here.”
“Wait…”
Is she serious?
“Adrienne is in Seattle?”
“Mmm hmm.” Joaquin takes a bite of his pancakes.
Seriously what is it with the whole human race and pancakes?
“Right now?”
Dove swallows her bite of eggs. “Yep.”
“Is she looking for me?”
Dove smirks. “Why else would she take the first flight out this morning?”
Fuck!
Shit!
Dammit!
“So, she’s in Seattle looking for me, and here I am, in fucking L.A. looking for her.”
Dove and Joaquin nod, smiling. “Isn’t that just ironic?”
“What do I do? Should I wait here for her to come back?”
Joaquin shrugs. “I mean you can.”
