“I’ve been thinking about selling the house in Tuxedo. You decide where we move to next. I’ll buy the house,” Gio replies.
“I’ll furnish it and pay for any upgrades needed,” Jace says.
I smile. I love the way they take care of me. My mind goes to Holly.
It looks like Gianni wants to give her what I have. Now that I know who he really is, I’m hopeful for my friend. She’s looking at her own version of royalty.
“Thanks, guys. If I’ve never said it before. Thanks.”
Jace wraps an arm around my head and tugs me into his side. Gio maintains his hold on my hand. I soak the moment in, trying to erase the eerie feeling that’s been haunting me.
“I’ve got this, Ny,” Gio says to my thoughts. “When I’m done, we’ll be the last ones standing. That’s a promise.”
I nod, not able to speak through my emotions. He has never broken a promise and I’m trusting this will be no different.
Chapter 45
Interception
Gio
I sit in this SUV on the tarmac, grinding my teeth, wishing we were still in Barbados. Although it was a business trip, I wanted to have some time with Ny, and I know Jace wanted the same thing.
I’m counting down the time until I can rip Riccardo’s throat out. He dares to put a hit out on me.Me.
Once I told Nonno and Don Ferrari about this detour, they were furious. However, they were both quick to talk me out of taking Riccardo’s useless life.
Although, Nonno did green-light my plan. We made sure it got to Riccardo that I’ll be in Sicily for a few days. This way, when he sends his teams in, he’ll send them all right into my trap.
I only need one team to remain alive. From what I hear, there are six on each. That will work out perfectly. I grin and sit back in my seat. Just then, the plane pulls into the private hangar.
A few minutes go by, the door lowers, and twelve guys come jogging off the plane headed for the SUVs Jace and I commandeered from the owners who were sent to pick these guys up. I shoot off a text. Within seconds, the sound of motorcycles fills my ears. Six bikes roll in, Ny on the one out front and the rest of the ladies doubled up on the other five.
Five dolls jump from the backs of the bikes to surround the guys who have disembarked, holding them at gunpoint with guns that would make anyone shit their pants if standing on the other end. The ladies on the bikes stand, aiming at their targets as well.
Jace and I step from the SUVs and move in to greet our guests. I have a smile on my face when I feel anything but friendly. I give a slow clap.
“So this is how you come in quietly? Nice. Ladies, let’s show them a warm welcome,” I say as I pull my gun and put a bullet between the eyes of the guy standing in front of me. The five dolls who dismounted the bikes pull their triggers, leaving the other six flinching away or trying to shield themselves from a headshot.
My pilot steps off the plane. Jace walks to the foot of the stairs, dropping a duffel bag to the ground. I nod as he picks the bag up.
Not only did he take over to fly these guys in. He turned a blind eye to the doll who allowed him to take the original pilot’s place.
“That will be all,” I say to him as he places the bag on his shoulder before turning to disappear back onto the plane.
“Gentleman, my great-uncle has invited you to his estate until I need you.Andiamo,I don’t have all day.”
The ladies shove them into the two SUVs as Jace climbs into the driver’s seat of one and I take the other.
Chapter 46
Time to Go
Riccardo
“What do you mean neither team has checked in?” I fume.
“I haven’t heard from John or Chris. I don’t know what’s happening on the other side,” Franky says.
