Page 103 of Monster's Obsession

One of the women had orange tentacles coming out of her head, and when I stared at her, eyes appeared on each leg, staring right back. Another emerald green monster had four arms and there were pincers at the end of each one.

Freddy appeared out of nowhere, sliding in front of Creed, his usual trail of goo running behind him. I was stunned to see a once dead Freddy, now very much alive, joining our ceremony, and I could only guess his revival had something to do with the curse over the city having been lifted. Something I’d have to ask about later.

“All hail Queen Blake!” he called out, and the entire room echoed him, sending chills across my skin. The crowd parted as Creed took a step to the side and bowed low.

This was where I had to walk up the middle of the room, to where our thrones were, in my see-through dress.

Lovely.

All eyes were on me, and I’d never felt so exposed.

Luckily, Ash, Seven, and Tempest were situated down the aisle so that I could keep one of them in my viewpoint my entire walk. Pride gleamed in their gazes, and they eyed me hungrily as I approached.

Which, of course, only made the situation worse because my nipples hardened into points and my thighs became slick with need.

I was never not going to be a horny bitch around them. But it would have been nice if I could have avoided that today.

I finally made it to the front of the enormous room where two thrones were set up. Both of them were made out of a black branch-type material around the outside of the red brocade seat. The black branches were covered in thorns.

They were quite intimidating, and I wasn’t sure I quite lived up to the dangerous vibe they were giving off.

But I could try to be badass today.

I settled into my throne and tried to stare imperiously at all the monsters. Creed stopped a few feet in front of the throne and knelt down on one knee. The rest of my monsters mirrored his pose a foot behind him.

“Maxsala mensueta chargogin,” Creed began. “I swear my blood, my power, and my loyalty to my queen, from this day, to forever.”

The rest of them repeated the oath as well.

Chills were sliding down my spine as I watched them. And I made a vow to them and myself…that I would always be deserving of this oath.

Creed snatched a long, fierce black dagger and slashed at his other hand, his blood dripping from the wound. He wiped it across his chest, leaving a long bloody streak there, and then he handed the knife to Steele. Creed rose from the ground and walked the remaining few steps.

And, of course, it got more intense. Because now, in my see-through dress, I had to drink from Creed and the others’ blood. He reached out his hand, his golden eyes glowing, and I took his hand gently in mine, pressing my mouth on the wound and lapping at the blood.

Heat flooded my insides, and I could feel his life force moving inside of me. Right next to Steele’s bond, another one arose.

I gasped and stared at Creed, and he nodded knowingly.

It was all I could do not to cry as I drank from the others’ hands.

Ash’s bond felt like pure sunshine, and a hitched sob tore from my throat as I felt him there, my ray of sunshine.

Seven’s was dark and protective; it settled inside me, seeming to fasten onto my heart so I could never lose track of it.

And Tempest’s…Tempest’s was the one that had tears streaming down my face. It was full of longing and devotion, and the promise that he’d never hurt me again. It told me all the things he wasn’t able to say.

Their four bonds fit right in with Steele’s perfect one.

After their vows, it was time for mine. I stood up, trying for confidence, and cast my gaze around the room.

“Maxsala mensueta chargogin,” I began, having practiced the traditional start to the vows with Ash over and over again so I could say them correctly. “I swear my blood, my power, and my loyalty to Wyld, from this day, to forever.”

The room answered my vow with a roar and shook the walls. Creed handed me the same dagger they had used, and I took a small pause before I cut into my hand. I dragged the blood across the top of my breasts, and then across my abdomen. This was supposed to symbolize the life I would provide Wyld.

“All hail Queen Blake,” the crowd cheered again.

Haunting music started up and I breathed a sigh of relief that the ceremonial part of the evening was over. It was now time for the celebration.
