Why the fuck washebeing so moody?

“What the hell is wrong with you?” I snapped, my hands on my hips in frustration.

He growled, a definite warning sign, but I couldn’t be stopped.

I stalked towards him, waving my hands in the air like a crazy person. I got up right in front of him and pushed on his shoulders. His massive form didn’t move an inch, so it was completely ineffectual, but maybe he was getting the message that I was done with his over-the-top moodiness.

“Tell me what your problem is? You have no problem fucking me. But everything else about me you seem to royally hate.”

That got his attention.

“No problem fucking you?” he snorted, his eyes lowering as hate and distrust blared from their depths. “I have a problem with everything about you. You’re nothing but a disappointment. Just likeher. And just likeher…no one else seems to notice. Their heads are too wrapped around your cunt.”

“Who isher?” I asked, forming my fingers into mock quotation marks.

“The Red Queen. Her majesty. Eruthria the cunt.”

I paused, biting on my lip in confusion, not understanding anything that was happening right then.

He turned away from me and paced the cave, flickering in and out of the shadows like he was too upset to be able to keep himself fully formed.

“It was my understanding she was the group’s ‘long lost love’…enough that when she died, you encased her freaking head in a museum so you could stare at her loveliness whenever you wanted.” I wasn’t proud of the jealousy in my voice. I knew they’d never love me like that. Steele claimed to love me in my dreams, but in reality…well, he was a murderer, right? So I wasn’t sure how farthatlove went. He’d once lovedhertoo, and he’d still killed her.

“She was not my ‘love’,” he snapped, ferociously.

I arched a brow, my mind whirling as I tried to think back on everything they’d ever said about her highness.

“She was a poison to our land. Just like you.” My gut churned at the way he’d said “poison.” I hated that word coming out of his mouth.

He had stopped his aimless pacing and was now standing there, his emerald green eyes piercing into me as his shadows swirled around him like a tornado…like a tempest.

“At first, I was as obsessed with her as the rest. I thought she was everything. I gave her everything.” His fierce voice faded into a pained whisper. “And then the curtain began to fall, and I saw who she really was. A selfish plague on our land who cared no more for our people than she cared for a speck of dust on the ground.”

“I don’t understand,” I murmured. “She fed the people. Just like I do. You fucked her, and the kingdom prospered.”

“It started slowly, slowly enough that it could be explained away. She’d just had a bad day. There was a lot of pressure on her. She was in one of her moods. But then her cruelty continued to grow. She began to play favorites. She refused to heal Seven—”

“She refused to heal him?”

His answering smile was all sharp teeth and the promise of destruction and pain. “He came to her, sliced all over by our enemies, and she could have made it all go away. Instead, she sent him away. And now he has those scars forever, a reminder of how the Red Queen cared so little for her lover that she tossed him aside like common trash.”

Well…Seven was making a lot more sense after that story. It was amazing that he’d deigned to have sex with me at all with that horror story in his relationship history. A wave of possessiveness wound its way through me. What a fucking bitch! For a second I wished she was living, just so I could kill her all over again.

But really make it hurt.

“And then I found out that she was plotting behind all of our backs with our enemies. She had a plan to slowly starve the city, and once she’d weakened us all enough, she’d let them in the gates to take over.”

“You obviously never told the rest of them that,” I snapped sarcastically. “She’s encased in a freaking shrine, for fuck’s sake.”

“I attempted to. But she had Creed and the others by the dick so hard, that he wouldn’t even listen to anything I had to say negative about her. To him, she was perfect. She was his queen.”

The jealousy frothing around inside of me only continued to grow thinking about her with Creed. About him taking her with his perfect body. About him moving in and out of her with his perfectly unique cock.

“So what did you do after he wouldn’t listen?” I asked, even as the knowledge of what he was telling me started to sink into my thick skull.

“I killed her. I sliced that bitch’s head clean off after Steele left her room. When he returned and found her, it made it so much easier to blame him.”

“You killed her,” I said slowly. “And then you decided to blame Steele for it?” My voice dripped with distaste.
