CHAPTER24
RICHARD
“Is my sweet little bird awake?”
Taking a seat on a wrought iron bench nearby, I sipped my coffee while I watched her stir. Her beautiful emerald eyes fluttered. With a soft moan, she rolled onto her back and placed a hand over her eyes to block out the light streaming down from the glass ceiling. Shifting onto her hip, the chain around her neck rattled as she moved to a sitting position.
Inhaling the dark aroma of my unsweetened coffee before taking another sip, I waited.
Elizabeth’s small hands grabbed the gold-link chain and followed it to the jewel-encrusted collar around her neck.
Any moment now…
Rising onto her knees, her head swiveled back and forth taking in her surroundings before her gaze found mine.
Staring at me through the gold bars, her eyes widened in horror.
Setting my coffee cup aside, I rose and approached her cage.
“Richard, what have you done?” she whispered hoarsely. Her throat probably dry from the drug I had slipped into her drink.
Undoing the belt of my robe, I let it fall to the floor, standing before her in only a pair of black silk pajama bottoms. Crouching to her eye level, I reached through the bars and stroked her cheek with the backs of my knuckles. A familiar gesture I knew she liked.
“Since you couldn’t be trusted to play by the rules of our old game, I’ve started a new one, my love.”
Grasping the bars, she screeched, “Let me out of here!”
“Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Little birdies who squawk instead of sing get punished. You’d be smart to remember that,” I warned her darkly.
“Richard… this is insane. You can’t keep me in here.”
“That is where you’re wrong. I’d think if you’ve learned anything these last few weeks, it’s that I can do whatever the fuck I want.”
Once more I reached through the bars to stroke her cheek. Elizabeth fell back, crawling on her hands to the far end of the domed cage. I shrugged and went back to my coffee. It was not as if a tug on the chain wouldn’t force her to come to me.
“Aren’t you going to look in the mirror to see the necklace I’ve bought you?”
Pushing her tousled hair out of her eyes, Elizabeth looked around the cage till she spied the large oval mirror fixed to one side. Slowly rising, she hobbled over to it.
Taking another sip of coffee, I realized it had become lukewarm. Fortunately, before I became annoyed at this inconvenience, a servant appeared to refresh my cup.
Elizabeth ran to the edge of the cage and rattled the bars. “Help! Help me! You have to call the police!”
Because he was paid extremely well to do so, the servant ignored her pleas and returned to the kitchen through a hidden door at the end of the conservatory. It really was astounding what enough money could buy you these days.
“Elizabeth, I’m growing impatient.”
At her wild look, I gestured with my head in the direction of the mirror.
Her shoulders sagged as she once more made her way to that end of the cage. Her fingers traced the outline of the emerald-cut diamond collar around her throat, then ran down the long gold chain. It was then she noticed the custom-designed outfit.
“Turn around so I can see you,” I commanded.
Looking over her shoulder at me, she hesitated a moment before silently obeying.
Out of the new wardrobe I had purchased for her, I believed this was definitely one of my favorites. The form-fitting leotard shimmered in the early morning light, appearing cobalt blue one moment and a vivid amethyst purple the next with an overlaid feather pattern in gold. Over her breasts, pussy, and ass, there was only a fine spun-gold netting. The outfit was missing just one detail but that would come later.
“Aren’t you going to thank me for your new outfit and jewels?”
