“I know you well,” he replied and raised his eyebrows. He licked his lips slowly and his tongue was hypnotic as I imagined it sliding across my clit, drawing an orgasm closer to the surface with each pass. God, he did know me well.
As I was staring at him, the music changed to a new song that I liked, and Kingston stood up. He held out his hand and said, “We have to dance.”
“I don’t know, I might need more of this,” I replied, tilting my wine glass from side to side.
“Drink fast, princess, we’re gonna dance,” Ryker insisted.
I drained my glass and stood up, swaying as the wine already hit my head. I was such a lightweight but I knew how to keep it so I was just a little tipsy now, not over the top like the night with Seymour.
“I want a dance, too,” Kingston pouted as we began to walk away.
“Then come out with us,” I said, turning back and extending my hand to him. “Let’s really give them something to talk about other than the Seymour thing or our mysterious disappearance.”
I felt somebody bump into me from behind, and when I turned around I found Neve standing there.
“Hey! I didn’t know you were coming to this, too!” she smiled and gave me a quick hug. “I’m here with Arthur, he’s in business, doing his MBA.”
“This is a new one?” I asked, raising a brow. She was quickly catching up to me in her number of guys. I was impressed, she had really taken to the lifestyle like it was natural for her. It was nice to have somebody else in my life that understood the attraction, and it would be really amazing to have parties or game nights with other people like ourselves.
I wouldn’t have to pretend they were just my roommates, or worry about somebody coming over just to get the inside dirt on how we lived our lives. I could relax among people like myself.
“This is a new one,” she whispered scandalously. “The other two are at home, and Arthur knows the deal and is really interested in it.”
“You’re a beautiful, sexy women,” I said close to her ear. “Who wouldn’t be interested? He’ll be lucky if you choose him.”
“Thank you,” she said and continued. “Without you, I never would have had the guts to do this you know. I didn’t even know I was allowed to.”
The song I’d wanted to dance to ended, and another banger started. I wasn’t going to miss this one so I finished with, “You can live whatever life you want. That’s the amazing thing about relationships.”
“You’re so right,” she said and I hugged her again before heading onto the dance floor with my Kings.
It was just as daunting as I thought it would be, and I probably could have used another couple of glasses of wine to really bolster my confidence. I didn’t have time to go back and gulp them down before swimming into the ocean of judgmental business majors.
I caught Neve’s eye from the sidelines as she sat with her new guy, Arthur. She nodded at me, giving me a look of approval. I appreciated her support, I needed anything I could get.
And then I caught Blackstone’s glinting, obsessive eyes watching my every move. The smirk on his face as he stared at me completely erasing the idea of him being a nice guy.
I hated it when my instincts proved wrong, the first time I met him I didn’t think anything bad about him. In fact, he’d come off as being pretty chill for one of the richest students at Fincross.
But now, as he locked his hooded eyes on me and I felt the weight of his gaze, I could see that had been an act. He wanted me, I knew that now. I wanted to take me away from my Kings, to possess me and own me. He was the type who didn’t want anybody to have me if he couldn’t.
He was used to leading the way. He had everybody around him jumping and running at every little command he barked and he couldn’t figure out why I didn’t respond the same way. Maybe that’s why he had done something with Seymour. Maybe it had been a deliberate attempt to disrupt my life from the moment I met him.
I shuddered and broke away from him at last, turned away and fell into Kingston’s arms.
“Are you okay, Evie?” he asked. His voice was gruff with his concern. “You look concerned.”
“And this is time for you to look sexy and seductive,” Ryker said, standing protectively closer to me. “Who’s bothering you?”
“Who do I need to punch in the face?” Archer asked in my ear. “Somebody’s fucking with you.”
“How do you guys know?” I asked, slowly moving against Kingston’s body as the music began to pick me up again. I couldn’t ignore it once the beat caught me, my body wanted to move the same way it wanted my Kings. I loved dancing, even with weirdo wannabe alpha losers trying to stare me down into submission.
I wasn’t the submitting kind, but he didn’t know that.
My Kings did, and they knew when I was unsettled by somebody, they could read everything about me. From the twitch I got around my mouth when I was unhappy, to the stiffness in my neck when I was uncomfortable.
I loved how in tune they were with my needs, even when I was being intimidated by an asshole who may or may not have been the reason I wound up in jail.
