"I'm fine, I promise." Her eyes softened at his concern.

"You will call me if anything happens, right? Even if it's the slightest twinge of pain, promise me Andie."

"I promise," she said, and she reached up on her tiptoes to plant a soft kiss on his lips.

When she pulled back from him, she found Avery staring at them with glassy eyes. She wished this kind of happiness for her sister. She just didn't know if Avery would let her guard down long enough to let someone in.

"Ready?" she asked turning to her sister.

"Ready."

As they turned to go Mike said, "I don't think I'll ever get used to looking at you two side by side. It's creepy."

They giggled like schoolgirls and headed to the elevator.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Breakfastwentgreat,Andiefelt good but was still rather tired. The combination of pregnancy sleepiness and the fact that she had done nothing other than lie around for a week was getting to her. As soon as breakfast was over, Christy suggested they head back. She rushed up to check on her daughter when they arrived at the apartments, and Andie said a quick goodbye to Avery.

"Good luck on your interview today," she said as she gave her sister one last squeeze.

"I don't need luck, I've got this one!" Avery exclaimed.

"I hope so, I hate moving in with Mike knowing you might need the extra cash a roommate could provide."

"Don't worry about me, you know if I need someone I'll just post an ad. It will be fine, I know this new job will pay better and everything will work itself out. It always does, doesn't it?"

"It always does." Andie agreed.

Once they said their last goodbyes in the lobby, Andie realized she had no way to get in to Mike's apartment. In all their conversations about how he had to go to the office to work, they didn't think through the logistics of it. She contemplated going up to borrow Christy's key or heading up to the offices of Calvano Security to get his key. She opted for neither because she was so darn tired. She sent Mike off a quick text and relaxed in the lobby until he could pull away to come get her.

Mike was losing his mind, Andie text him over 45 minutes ago and he couldn't find her anywhere. He was in a spec ops meeting and his damn phone had died. When one of the guys got back with a charger for him, he saw her text and was kicking himself for not thinking things through. He called Andie five times, and she didn't answer. That's when he really panicked. His mind was racing and he couldn't think straight. What if she was hurt? Or had fallen? Or what if something happened with the baby again? His hands were shaking when he dialed Christy's number.

"Hello?"

"Is she with you?" he nearly yelled through the phone.

"Who? Andie? No, Mike, we went our separate ways when the driver brought us back."

"I forgot to give her a damn key and now she's not answering."

"Okay, take a deep breath, you know she is here somewhere. We came back together."

"Then where the hell is she?"

"Why don't you just track her phone? And don't play like you and Jason don't track me everywhere I go. I know you do, so clearly you can find Andie. You run a damn security company!"

"Right, track her phone. Got it."

"Oh, and Mike," she interrupted his thoughts before he hung up on her, "If you don't stop yelling at me, I'm going to have Jason kick your ass."

And at that she hung up.

Tracking was easy, but the results made no sense. Her phone was in the building, but if she wasn't with Christy and couldn't get into the apartment, where the hell was she? Still panicking, he activated a tracing program that would lead him right to her phone. He started following it out of the office and immediately got strange stares from his mother. He was really going to need to find an assistant he wasn't related to.

The tracker took him down to the first floor of the lobby and there snuggled up in one of the big chairs was Andie sound asleep. His first thought when he saw her peacefully sleeping was that Christy would never forgive him. He crouched down next to the chair.

"Andie," he said, stroking her arm.
