Andie: It's nothing, stop worrying, you have a big night ahead of you.

It's nothing meant there was something, but she wasn't telling him. He felt that uneasy feeling he gets when something is wrong and his jaw clenched in frustration. He had told her he trusted her, and he needed to prove that to her. If it was something big, she would tell him, or he hoped at least Christy would. He wanted to believe that, but when he saw Christy lean over and whisper something to Jason, the look of shock and concern on Jason's face gutted him. Jason glanced at him quickly and then diverted his eyes away as if he didn't want Mike to see his worry. That one look from his best friend made him realize something was very wrong, and now they were all keeping it from him.

As soon as the flight landed, he jumped up and went to Andie. He sat next to her and leaned in quietly, whispering into her ear.

"What aren't you telling me?"

"It's nothing, we can talk about it later," she said again.

Mike was having a hard time keeping his sanity. His hands were clammy and his breathing irregular. He tried his hardest not to lose it on everyone, but his mind was consumed again with a million different terrible scenarios. Andie wasn't even that far along, and he already feared her pregnancy was going to be the death of him.

Once they made their way down the steps of the plane, he went to put his hand behind her back, and he felt her flinch. Andie had never pulled away from him before. He had no idea what to think. Pushing through it, he helped her to the car. Every time he looked over at her, she had a distant look on her face. Whenever she noticed him looking, she'd plaster that fake smile on again. He was going to kick Jason's ass. Something was wrong with his girl and he knew about it and he wasn't telling him. They all avoided his gaze as they drove to the hotel with their client, talking away as if he couldn't sense the tension in the vehicle.

When the car slowed in front of the hotel he said, "You guys go ahead, I just want a minute with Andie."

She took one look at him and said in a cheery voice that wasn't hers, "Don't be ridiculous, you go on in ten minutes. We have to go." Then she rushed out of the car and towards the entrance.

He looked at Jason and saw pity in his eyes. No one was going to let him in on what was happening until after his damn speech. Unfortunately, all he could do was worry about Andie and he was about to get in front of a room full of five hundred people. His notes would be useless. His mind was consumed with thoughts of her.

They got inside, and he was quickly ushered away from everyone and brought backstage. The only thing saving him was the chaos of the event. They fit him with a mic and numerous people were giving him instructions. The second he stepped out in front of the audience, everything fell into place. He could see Andie sitting at their table, which was front and center. His seat next to her was taken by Christy, who was holding Andie's hand. He knew his focus in that moment needed to be his speech, and he was happy that Christy was there for Andie when he couldn't be.

The second he finished on stage, he made a beeline for her, only to find she was even more withdrawn than before. They sat through the stuffy dinner with her making minimal small talk. When she wasn't being addressed by someone, she was staring at her lap.

He leaned in often to check on her, "Andie, angel, what's going on?"

"Mike, please stop asking me," she said as she tried to pull away from him again. Since she wouldn't talk to him, he decided he would be her physical strength. He held her hand and when she finally leaned on his shoulder, he felt like he could breathe again. He pulled her tight into his side and prayed the night would be over soon. Andie seemed to relax, but when Christy asked her to join her in the ladies' room, it was like she couldn't get away from him fast enough. She pushed away from the table grabbing her bag and followed her without another word.

About twenty minutes later, Christy returned without Andie. Mike's panic set in. Where was she? As Christy tried to hurry to the table, he jumped up and met her half-way across the ballroom.

"Where is she?" he nearly yelled, drawing attention of those around him.

"Mike, I need you to calm down." He felt Jason come up behind him, and he pushed his hand away when it landed on his shoulder.

"Where is Andie?!" he roared in anger.

"I helped her to the car. She isn't feeling well. You need to calm down before you see her or you're only going to make things worse."

He barely heard the end of the sentence. Running past the two of them and out to the lobby of the hotel, he realized he had no idea which car was theirs. The event brought with it many people with drivers of black limos. Standing at the entrance of the hotel, he heard Christy and Jason running up behind him.

"You need to stop!" Christy shouted at him.

Jason grabbed his arm, "Bro, listen to me. She needs you to be calm right now. Be her strength."

"Be her strength? I don't even know what's happening! One of you better start fucking talking, and I want to know which damn car she is in!"

Jason looked down, suddenly fascinated with his shoes; it was Christy who had enough guts to tell him the truth.

"She's bleeding, Mike. It's not a lot, but it's enough to be concerned about. We just called the midwife, and she asked her to come back to NYC as soon as possible. She said if it gets worse then we need to take her to the Women and Babies hospital here in Toronto."

He couldn't breathe. Positive his heart stopped beating, he felt frozen in his steps. Jason reached for his arm and he pushed him away again.

"Don't touch me!" He said with a vehemence he only saved for the worst people he encountered.

He turned on Christy, "Where is she?"

"Follow me," Christy said as she walked toward a car just down the street.

"I will never forgive you two for keeping this from me." he said before opening the door.
