They both nodded, annoyance clear on their faces.

Then out of nowhere his mother turned to Jason, giggled and said, "I think she's pregnant with my grandchild."

Mike dropped his head as Jason cracked up laughing and pulled him into a hug.

"For real? Man, our kids will be practically the same age. Congratulations!"

This was drawing way too much attention. He needed to wake Andie up and get her out of here. He could finish the remaining work he had from home and he really didn't want to explain everything to his mother and Jason right now. The last thing he needed was Andie waking up and thinking he was telling people she was pregnant. He learned enough from his sisters that people usually wait a while before making the big announcement.

"That's enough! Quiet, both of you." And with that, he stormed away to wake his woman.

"Andie, come on, it's time to go."

"Huh? Wait, where am I," she said partially opening her eyes. "Oh no, did I fall asleep again? Gosh, this is so embarrassing. I'm sorry Mike, what time is it? I feel like I've been here all day."

"It's around 7:30, we've got to get some dinner."

"WHAT? Oh my god, I really have been here all day! I need to go. Like now." She jumped up with speed he didn't think was possible. "It was nice seeing you, I'll be in touch." She grabbed for her purse and was heading for the door when something terrible came over her.

Next thing she knew she was running for the trash can he brought to her earlier and started dry heaving her life away.

Mike took one look at her and his heart hurt. They had been back together for less than 24 hours and she was not well. She needed an actual meal, maybe some tea and a proper bed. Although his couch was ridiculously comfortable, she didn't need to sleep on there all day. He should have done a better job taking care of her. Mike rushed towards her and pulled her hair back with one hand while rubbing her back with the other.

"That's it, you're okay. Try taking slow breaths in through your nose. That's it," he said, trying to calm her.

"It's not okay," she choked out. The words and the tears in her eyes broke him. He sat down next to her and pulled her into his lap. Andie leaned her head against his chest while she leveled out her breathing. Mike knew right then he would do anything for the woman in his arms.

"Shhh... just relax for a minute," he said stroking her hair, "I know this wasn't something we planned, but it's definitely something we can get through. I mean, people have babies together all the time, right?"

"We are not together, we don't even know each other."

This would be harder than he thought. They needed some time together to talk. He probably shouldn't have waited all day to wake her, but he had a lot to get done and wanted to be free to focus on the two of them when they sat down. Knowing she was in his office all day kept him on his toes. He liked just having her around, even if she was sleeping. Maybe his mother way right, he was out of his mind.

"Okay, we have some things to discuss so we can get on the same page. Do you work tonight?"

"No, but..."

"No buts," he interrupted, "If you're not working then you're coming home with me. We will get some dinner and talk over some of our options. While you were resting, I've had some time to think some things through and I think I know how I want to handle this."

Handle this? She thought. She didn't want to be handled. As she opened her mouth to tell him he raised one finger to her lips to shush her. Oh, he was getting his ass kicked, for sure. She may not feel up to it right now, she may be half his size, but she was kicking his ass. This was the second time today someone wanted to "handle" her, and she was over it. She pulled his hands away and narrowed her eyes at him.

"Seriously, this isn't going to work for me. My plan was to come here and tell you what was going on, but I can't stay. I need to call my sister back and pick up dinner on my way home." She said as she gingerly got up and dug around in her purse for her phone.

Looking down, she realized Avery had called multiple times and sent text messages.

"Oh, crap," she said while shooting off a quick text telling her sister she was alive.

"Everything okay?"

"No, Mike, everything is not okay," she said. "I texted my sister on my way here and then missed a bunch of her calls. She probably called the police trying to report me as a missing person."

"She didn't do that."

"Oh ya, how would you know?"

He stepped forward and pulled her to him. She was so small her head only hit the middle of his chest, "Andie, listen to me," he said as he rubbed her back lightly, "I know this is hard for you. It's hard for me too, but we are not irresponsible kids. Trust me when I tell you everything will be okay."

"How do you know?" came out of her in a mumbled mess because of the way she was pressed into him.
