Page 40 of Unexpected Kisses

AJ drops his head forward and chuckles as his hands land on his hips. “I promise, I’m not that quick when I’m doing the real thing.” He opens his mouth to say something else, but I see the moment he changes his mind and closes it tight. I don’t dare ask what he was about to add because I think it may be too much at this point. “Anyway, I’m all done.”

“Thanks again, AJ. I really don’t know how I can properly thank you for all of this.” I step into his body and wrap my arms around him in gratitude. I feel like all I do is say thank you to the guy and yet it never feels like it’s enough.

His arms come around me and he pulls me in close. His warm breath touches the side of my face as he whispers, “It’s my pleasure. No thanks necessary.” He places a gentle kiss on my jawline slightly below where it meets my lobe and I shiver.

Did he feel it? He had to feel it.

Mortification fills me and I pull back, putting much-needed space between us. I suck in a deep breath to recalibrate and grab the gift he brought for Kenny to put something physical between us. “Here, you can bring this with you tomorrow.”

He takes it. “Did you want me to pick you up?”

I mentally berate myself when I almost agree. That wouldn’t be a good idea. If my family notices us arriving together, they’ll think there’s more going on than there really is. It’s bad enough I’ve invited him. I wish I had a time machine to go back and keep my lips sealed. “I’ll be going a little earlier to help set up, so maybe you can meet me there. I’ll text you the address.”

His smile drops and his eyes skate away from mine. “Sure. Whatever’s easiest. See ya tomorrow.” He leans forward to give me a brief kiss goodbye and then he’s gone. I sag against the closed door and chastise myself for getting too caught up in him. He only wants to be a donor. He’s not looking for a life partner. I’d do well to damn well remember that.

I head into the bathroom to wash my hands and collect the condom and syringe. Then I set about doing what needs to be done. After the first day where I battled with myself to not think of AJ when I came, I’ve given up and given in. He’s now my go-to thought. Imagining his strong fingers working me over along with his tongue, pushes me over the edge quicker than I’ve ever known before. I figure I may as well go with it.

CHAPTER18

–aj–

I couldn’t believemy luck when Sarah invited me to Kenny’s party today. I was stunned but there was no way I was going to say no. Even though I had a group climb planned today, I begged off saying I had an urgent matter I needed to take care of. When I bought Kenny a birthday gift, I never imagined it would earn me an invitation. I could tell by Sarah’s shocked expression she hadn’t meant to invite me, but I wasn’t about to give her the opportunity to change her mind.

I wipe my sweaty palms as I take my first steps toward Emma and Theo’s home and I look around at the other homes on the street. Is this what Sarah will want once she has her baby? I could easily sell my renovated warehouse; Dylan and I can rent office space somewhere and then I’d be able to buy a house with a white picket fence, fancy porch, and a backyard for our kids to play.

The screen door flies open and out runs Kenny. “You’re here! I thought you’d never get here. I’ve been waiting for ages. Why didn’t you come with Aunty Sarah?”

Woah!

“Kenny! What have I told you—” Theo’s voice booms as he flies onto the porch. “Oh, hi, AJ. Kenny, just because it’s your birthday party, it doesn’t mean you get to forget the rules. Okay?”

Sheepishly, Kenny turns back toward her dad. “Sorry, Daddy. I was excited and I forgot.”

He steps down from the front porch and straightens her crown. “I know you’re excited, Munchkin.” They both walk toward me, Theo holding out his hand in greeting. He doesn’t squeeze quite as tight as he did at the beach. I’ll take that as progress.

“Is that for me?” Kenny’s wide blue eyes snap up to my face.

“It sure is.” I hand her the gift, though seeing her already wearing a crown, maybe I should have bought her something different.

“What do you say, Munchkin?” Theo reminds the little dynamo.

“Thank you, Uncle AJ.” She gestures for me to bend down, so I do, then she shocks the hell out of me when she plants a gentle kiss on my cheek.

My stomach flips at her easy acceptance of me into her family unit. If only it was as easy to win over her aunt. “You’re welcome. I hope you like it.” She takes off inside, leaving Theo and me on the front sidewalk.

“We’d better get inside. Lachlan and I have been working on your nephew’s climbing wall. We’ll show it to you later.”

“Thanks. Colton’s gonna love having a designated space to climb where he won’t get into trouble.”

We climb the steps to the front porch and I freeze when I see Sarah standing with the screen door open, waiting for us. Theo steps past her, leaving the two of us in the doorway.

“Hey.” It’s the only word that will come out. She looks gorgeous in a red sundress that leaves her shoulders bare and hugs her magnificent tits. I tuck my hands into my pockets in a bid to disguise my rising cock.

She smiles at me, and I swear the world around me stops. I’m not usually such a sap, but when she’s around, I don’t see or hear anything else but her. “Hey. You found it okay?”

“Yeah.” I take the steps up to her and I can’t stop myself from swiping my lips across hers. She gasps lightly and I draw back. “It was easy enough to find. How are you feeling?” I study her face closely.

Her eyes grow soft and she gives me a tender smile. “I’m feeling okay.”
