“I didn't want us to miss the sunset,” he whispered in a remarkably familiar tone.
I took a deep breath, smiling. The puzzle in my brain was beginning to form a picture, but I was not sure if it was accurate or I just wanted it to be that way. Questions in my mind were awakened, but I was terrified of asking him the one thing that I wanted to know.
10 Great Escape
The ride home after our date was interesting to say the least. The wheels in my head continued to spin as Valentino and I had kissed the entire way back to my apartment. It did not feel as though we were strangers. I felt a connection to him, but I could not understand how it was possible. Other than the bar, bumping into him, and the interview, I felt something bigger was happening. I could not quite figure it out yet.
So much had happened recently. At this point, I was just trying to figure out how I would survive this world. I was still angry about the auction, but I was also trying not to focus on that part of my arrangement since I had not been forced to do anything. Sir had been nothing short of respectful, causing me to enjoy his company.
However, at the moment, I was turned on by another man, craving for him to hold me tighter. The passion between us was organic. I wanted to be ravished but a part of me felt guilty for feeling this way.
The limo pulled up in front of my apartment building, and the driver opened my door. I peeled myself away from him, but as I began to step out of the car, Valentino grabbed my arm, pulling me back into the seat. I nearly fell on top of him.
“Close the door for a moment,” he ordered the driver.
The moment the door closed, he pulled me on top of him, arranging my legs on each side of his thighs. Straddling his lap was not how I envisioned the night going, but I was not protesting. He ran his fingers through my hair, scanning my eyes while searching for words. He slowly tucked his bottom lip between his teeth, gently biting down.
I could tell he was the one with a lot on his mind now.He seemed to want to tell me. His breathing became shallow as I felt the hardness of his erection growing beneath my already aroused womanhood.
“Isabelle,” he whispered in his seductive Italian accent as his eyes glazed over in lust.
I found it difficult to speak. “Hmm.”
He silently continued to search my eyes for whatever he was hoping to find. Before another word was spoken, he finally pulled me in to his lips for another kiss but this time it was a soft and sensual peck on the corner. He pulled away, slowly opening his eyes.
“I had an amazing time with you tonight,” he assured. “I hope you will let me take you out again soon.”
I nodded, beaming, “Thank you for taking me out even after I fainted in your office.”
He chuckled, appearing cocky. “It's not the first time trust me,” he winked as he pulled me in to his body, mischievously kissing my neck. “Come on, I'll walk you up.”
I placed my hand on his chest. “Um nosir, I'm fine,” I playfully retorted. “I can walk myself.”
His mouth fell open as he grabbed his chest on top of his heart. “Ohhh, you're throwing me out on the street,” he joked.
I giggled, “No, I'm leaving you in your very expensive limo.”
“But, alone.”
I grinned at him then climbed off his lap. I tapped on the window and the driver opened the door. Stepping outside of the car, I spun to Valentino, bending down, seeing that he was in a staring contest with my backside.
I brought his attention to my eyes with a gesture. “Goodnight, Mr. Greco.”
A malicious grin spread across his face. “You can call meSir,”he winked.
Just as my mouth fell agape, the driver closed the door then strode to the front of the car. I could not move. Suddenly, a body popped out of the moon roof. Valentino leaned his elbows on the roof of the car, appearing authoritative.
“See you Monday?”
Arching a brow, I placed my hands on my hips. ”What's Monday?”
He smiled, descending back into the car then popped back up again, throwing me a pair of keys with a keycard. I am proud to say, my flustered self, managed to catch them. Holding them up, I inspected them, noting the company logo on the key card.
“What's this?”
“I might have fired Samantha and gave you her job.”
My mouth fell agape once again. I did not know what to say, so I stood on the sidewalk speechless at his gesture. Either he had seen how she acted toward me or he had planned on firing her anyway.
