“Good to see you too.” A devilish grin crept onto his face as his hazel-grey eyes tightened on mine.
“Not that I’m upset to see you, but on a night like tonight, it’s not good news.”
He shook his head, the smile diminishing from his face. “Definitely not good news.” He stepped out the way and gestured toward my desk. “You’re going to want to sit down for this one.”
“How about you just talk?!”
“Were you aware that Felipe Ayala was a twin?”
Blinking several times, I processed his words. Or, at least I tried. “What?”
“A twin.”
My eyes widened as I slowly pivoted to Noah in disbelief.
He lifted his hands. “I didn’t even know about that, I swear. I just found out before you.”
Emilio shrugged. “Yeah, apparently he’s been trying to find you and warn you or some shit and—”
“Tonga. Fucking Tonga. It wasn’t Felipe!” I marched toward my desk, swiping my hand across the surface. “I fucking knew something was off!”
Joseph took a step forward, flashing his palms at Emilio and me. “Okay, how did he find us and why was he there?”
Emilio ran his thumb across his bottom lip. “I located his wife in New Hampshire and questioned her. She acted completely normal and said he was able to track you guys down and went to warn you about Felipe. Apparently he had just reached out to Sebastian…um the twin…to threaten him about something.”
“Fucking hell.” I huffed, running my fingers through my hair. “For weeks I’ve been trying to figure out what went wrong that night. He was so easy to kill.”
“That’s because it wasn’t him.” Emilio snorted.
“I have to figure out how to tell Isabelle.” I turned to Joseph and Noah. “We have to tighten security around the estate even more now.”
Joseph bobbed his head. “I got it. I’ll handle it a soon as we get home.”
“And Jesse.” I growled. “He’s showing up again now too.”
“Would you like anything else from me?” Emilio slid his hands in his pockets, cocking his head.
“No.” I tossed my hand out to the side. “Thank you and if you want, you can join your brother out there.”
He shook his head. “I don’t need to pay for my women. I want them to see who the fuck is balls deep inside them. I don’t give a fuck if they tell people. You people are fucking weird and too paranoid for my tastes.” He bent over, picked my mask up off the floor, and handed it to me. “Hmm, nice though. Black and gold.” I took it and he slapped me on the shoulder blade as he paraded past me toward the exit. “Oh, V?”
Furrowing my brow, I twisted around, glaring at him. I hated when people touched me. Because his family were good friends of mine and I did not feel like fighting right now, I allowed it.
The devil’s smile returned. “Good thing is he’s not a triplet.” He closed the door behind him.
“Search the hotel, now.” I growled. “Every room. Every entrance and exit. Every fucking hallway, closet. The parking lot. I want this place combed.”
“Yes, sir.”
Rage boiled inside me. I took several deep breaths trying my best to calm down. Noah took a step toward me.
“Noah, I suggest you go with Joseph.”
“I swear I didn’t know.”
“I know. Go!”
The moment I was alone, I unbuttoned my jacket and removed my gun, checking to make sure Joseph had loaded it. He always did, when I left him in charge of it but I was not about to let another mistake occur tonight. I slid it back in the holster and buttoned my jacket as I marched back toward the ballroom, securing my mask back on my face.
