She opened her mouth to reply but I crashed my lips into hers, kissing her hungrily. After several moments, she broke away. “I saw your car outside and thought I would pop in.” She smiled. “I’ve missed you so much.” She wrapped her arms around my neck, lacing her fingers together behind my neck.

Grabbing her hips, I pulled her into my body. “Why didn't you reply to my text?” I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

“Oh that.” She bit her bottom lip as she peered up at me like she was dreading telling me.

I sighed, shaking my head. “Come on.” I glanced back at the door to make sure I locked it and clutched her hand in mine. Escorting her up the stairs in front of me, I placed my hands on her backside.

As we neared the second floor, I stopped, “Wait!” I commanded.

She jumped then froze. “What?”

“Wait here.” Marching to the canvas I had been painting of her, I dragged it behind the wall, covering it so she would not see.

“Okay, you can come in now.” I inhaled slowly.

She giggled, entering the living room. “It reeks of fumes up here.”

I nodded. “Yeah, I guess I should open the windows.”

“I got it!” She skipped over to the first one, fighting with the long, white sheer drapes before opening it.

As I was bent over, I glanced up at her. She was an innocent angel and did not deserve any of this. She snickered as she pushed the final curtain out of her face. The exterior lights accentuated her flawless silhouette. The haze of the moon and city pollution made a faint halo above her head. The curtains hung behind, flapping in the gentle wind like majestic wings. She sashayed over, jumping into my arms. I grabbed her, wrapping mine around her tightly. She smiled, pressing her lips to mine. Gently, I placed her back on the floor, keeping her securely snug in my arms.

“Why didn’t you reply to my text?”

She averted her gaze, inhaling deeply with her eyes squeezed shut.

“Sofia.” I sighed, lifting her chin with my finger. “Where’s your phone?”

She backed out of my embrace and took a deep breath. “My father has it.”

“Fuck.” Sliding my hands in my pockets, I bowed my head.

“But don't worry,” She took a step toward me. “I can get another ASAP, and he doesn't know it's you in my phone anyway.”

Cocking my head, I arched a brow.

‘I saved you under another name.” She winked, grinning. “I’m not going to be stupid twice.” She clasped my rosary in her palm.

“Okay.” A sigh of relief spread throughout me. “Thank you.”

She sauntered toward the kitchen. “I’m not as dumb as the girls you might be used to.” She smirked, dragging her fingernail around the island as she circled it. She came to a stop in front of me.

Lips twisting into a smirk, I shook my head.

“What?” She reached up, cupping her hand on my jaw. “Are you about to pounce on me?” She ran her tongue over her bottom lip and tucked it between her teeth as she mischievously peered up into my eyes.

I snorted and pulled a black bandana out of my back pocket, holding it up in front of her.

“You’re going to blindfold me and fuck me right here?”

“I have a better idea.” I chuckled, stepping behind her and tugging it against her eyes.

“What’s better than that?” She snorted.

After tying the cloth on her face securely, obstructing any view, I waved my hand in front of her. She did not budge. I grabbed one of the tall bar chairs and took her hand in my other. Guiding her to the living room carefully, I set the chair on the hardwood floor next to the rug.

“What are you doing?” She was too trusting but the confusion in her tone let me know she was nervous. After settling in her seat, she crossed her leg over her knee and slumped forward as if she were unsure how to sit.
