“Shit it's cold.” He blew warmth into his hands as we climbed the stairs.

Not being a morning person had its perks. He did not question why I was so quiet. The moment we got upstairs, I headed for the bedroom to get dressed, hoping Sofia was still asleep.

“Shit got sexy up in here last night, bro!” Joey's voice carried down the hallway.

I froze, sighing. Shit! Rolling my eyes, I spun on my heels reluctantly, trudging to the kitchen to assess the damage and evidence Sofia and I left behind the previous night. When I rounded the corner, Joey was examining the strewn items; her destroyed dress, the knife, my jacket, shirt, and both of our shoes.

“Just tell me two things.” He held up two fingers, smirking.

Folding my arms over my chest, I leaned on the cabinets, praying Sofia did not walk around the corner.

“I assume by the lack of blood, this mystery woman is still alive, yes?” He strolled over to the knife, amusement smeared on his face. “Or do I need to help you hide a body?”

I snorted. “Yeah, she's very much alive.”

“And number two.” He pointed to the scattered clothes with a wide grin. “Is she out roaming the streets naked right now?” Bending over, he plucked her wrecked dress off the floor with his fingertips. He held it in the air, examining it for a second before letting it fall.

Exhaling, I strode to the coffee maker, brewing a single cup. “No, she's not naked out there.”

“Ah ha!” He chuckled sarcastically. “You've matured. You gave her clothes, at least.”

When I turned to face him, his head was tilted as he stared in deep thought at the ceiling.

“Wait!” He gasped. “Is she here right now?” He brought his voice down to a whisper and pointed to the floor.

I jerked my head toward the bedroom. “She's still asleep.”

“Oh shit!” His mouth fell agape, grinning. “Do you know this one's name?”

His question made me shudder, but I was instantly horrified when I saw Sofia appear from the living room, hair tousled and hanging in her face. One of my shirts hung off her body, barely covering her most private areas. Skewing my head, I tried to subtly to see if she was wearing anything underneath. It did not appear so, but we were also not expecting company.

Confusion appeared on Joey's face as he arched a brow. His gaze followed mine, and he turned toward Sofia. Face astonished promptly, he snapped his head toward me then back at her once again. Without hesitation, she nearly skipped over to me, backing herself against my body.

Joey stalked every step she took, resting his palm on the handle of his gun. He waited for her to give him a reason to shoot her. Clearing his throat, he took a deep breath as his wide stare turned into an enraged scowl.

“Gav, what the fuck is going on?!” He threw his arms out, gesturing at her.

“J, this is—“

“Jesus Christ, I know who the fuck she is!” Letting his neck roll forward, he closed his eyes. Placing his fingertips on his temples, he tried his best to massage the stress away. “Why the fuck is she here?”

Sofia leaned back, forcing herself against my body. While Joey's face was buried in agony, I slowly ran my fingers up her perfectly round bottom, checking for any sign of her panties. She reached back, putting her hand gently on mine. Teasing me, she pressed her backside into my body, grinding hard against my cock. Hastily, she removed her hand when he reluctantly lifted his gaze.

Joey's glower narrowed. He crossed his arms over his chest, taking a deep breath. “Is this a thing now?” He darted his eyes back and forth between us. Running his fingers through his wavy sepia-brown hair, he shook his head, growling.

Sofia tilted her head back, peering up at me, and pleaded silently.

I shrugged. “It was just one night so I don't know how to answer that.”

He shook off my words as if the pure thought disgusted him. Stepping over to the fridge, he got out a beer then yanked the bottle opener magnet off the freezer. We watched as he fidgeted with the correct angle to pop the top, proving how badly this was angering him.

Lifting my hand to my chin, I stroked the shadow of my unshaven face. “It's a bit early for a beer.”

Whirling around with a scowl, he snorted. “Is it really though, Gavino?”

I rolled my eyes, letting out a deep breath.

“You fucked Alphonse's daughter!” Tossing his arm out, he pointed at Sofia. “His...daughter!”
