Ava kisses the side of my neck, humming happily, and I echo the sentiment.

I’m so fucking happy. Even when we argue, at the end of the day she’s wearing my ring on her finger and we sleep together in our bed.

We came out stronger, despite everything life threw at us.

I never imagined my life could get any better but somehow, everyday with her is better than the last.

“Happy?” She whispers, poking the dimple on my cheek.

Chuckling, I nip at her finger and nod my head.

“Very much.”

She kisses my chin then sighs happily. “Me too. I love our house.” Then she giggles. “Oh that felt good to say.Our. House.”

I grin and pull her on top of me. She straddles my waist, her hands wrapping protectively around her baby bump. My smile widens so much my cheeks start to hurt, but I can’t help it.

“I love our house. I love you. I love our baby. I love our family.” My thumbs caress the underside of her belly but it’s not enough, I need more.

With her, I always crave more.

I roll over so I’m on top this time and she squeals, then whimpers when I nip her jaw, slowly kissing my way up her neck to the spot behind her ear that makes her shiver. I’m careful not to put my weight on her, but I can’t take another second of not being with her.

With one swift motion, I pull my shirt off and then her nightgown and I show her.

She’s mine and I’m hers.

The way it was always supposed to be.

But this time around, we’re not wasting time anymore.
