He kicked off his shoes and stripped naked.

After turning on the shower and adjusting the water to arctic cold, he stepped into the icy stream with his erection as stiff as a flagpole and shivered his way through it.

Emily stood outside Max’s cabin with her hand frozen in the air. She had intended to knock and throw herself at him the minute he opened the door. But maybe he didn’t find her as attractive as she’d surmised early on in the date. Maybe she had to work harder to seduce him. The kiss in the elevator, the boobalicious dress—perhaps it hadn’t been enough.

Didn’t most men have zero problems with sex delivered to them on a platter? Or wrapped in plastic wrap?

She pulled down the short hem of the tight dress as it had ridden up her thighs.

How did women wear this stuff? Annoying.

She hesitated, stared at the door, and pursed her lips.

What if he laughed at her? What if he thought she was ridiculous and silly? Was that why he gave her the kiss on the cheek?

“Trouble in paradise?” A man in his thirties approached wearing a Houston Astros baseball cap and a jersey to match. He was alone. Unusual for the honeymoon cruise. Everyone seemed to travel in pairs.

Emily gave him a tight smile and hoped he moved along.

No such luck.

When the man spoke next, the scent of booze filled her nose. He was three sheets to the wind. “Shy bride? He won’t care.” Before she could tell him to scram, he pounded on Max’s door.

“Hey!” She slapped him on the arm.

The man withdrew his hand, backed away, and shrugged. “Sorry, lady, only wanted to help.”

Max opened the door. He wore only a pair of shorts, and a towel rested around his shoulders.

Oh my.

Fresh from a shower?

His abs were too perfect. She wished she could touch his muscled torso.

“Emily?” He scratched his perfect chin and frowned.

This was no time to lose her resolve. With the flat of her hand, she pushed him into his cabin.

The Chapter Everyone Wants

“Hey.” Max lost his balance, stumbled backward, grabbed Emily’s hand, and pulled her to him.

Her body aligned with his. And, oh, it was better than she could’ve imagined. He smelled like coconuts and hibiscus.

Before they both landed in a pile on his bed, the top of her head whacked him in his teeth.

“Ouch,” Max said in a low timbre.

The hottest ouch on the planet.

His arm slid down her back until it rested just above her ass. Warm, solid—this was the second best accidental fall on top of a hot man ever (the first being her fall in the raft). She needed to be clumsier around him in the future.

But as much as she wanted to lie there in a sexy pile on his bed, she needed answers. She rolled off of his hard glorious body of muscles, painful as that was, to do what she came there to do. “I want to set something straight.”
