He frowned slightly. “And why not?”

“Because we’re not dating, and we’re never going to date. We are just hooking up for fun because it’s pleasurable. But you’re my boss, and we’re going to keep it very black and white. We have to stay within the lines, Travis.”

“Um, okay. So then you’re not going to get upset if other women—”

“If other women what?” I cut him off. “We said we’re not going to sleep with other women or men or whatever. We’re not going to sleep with anyone else.”

“Yes, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go on dinner dates or whatever.”

“So you want to go on dates,” I asked, “with other women?”

“I mean, I’m just saying that…”

“Fine. It’s fine. I don’t care if you go on dates. Actually, maybe it’s better because if they think you’re dating other women, no one will think you’re hooking up with me. And if you aren’t going out with other women, then they’re going to wonder why and then they might start getting suspicious of your new assistant. So actually good idea. You should go on dates, and I should go on dates just in case people get suspicious anyway and…”

“Oh my gosh, you overthink things way too much, Molly.”

“I’ve heard that a time or two,” I said with a smile. “Now are you ready to go back and watch a movie?”

“What?” he said. “Aren’t you tired?”

“I am tired, but I can watch a movie.”

“I thought we could maybe make a little love,” he said, laughing.

I shook my head. “Nope. Remember what we said? We’re not making love tonight. We’re going to watch a movie and talk.”

“Well, we did the talking over dinner.”

“We did talk a lot over dinner, but we didn’t watch a movie.”

“Fine, Molly, if that will prove to you that I’m not just in this for sex.”

“Well, no, you’re not just in this for the sex. You’re in it because I’m also working for you and providing an absolutely amazing service.”

“I’m going to pretend you didn’t say that,” he said, laughing.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, it makes it sound like sex is a service you’re providing as opposed to your administrative duties.”

I rolled my eyes. “Travis Covington, sometimes I think you are an idiot.”

“Well, hey, that’s better than all the time.”

I looked at him, and he just looked at me. He took a step forward and kissed me on the lips. I melted against him, my fingers in his hair, and I pressed my body against his. He kissed me back with passion, and I just loved the feel of him.

Suddenly, he stepped back and shook his head. “No, no, no, no, no. If we’re not making love tonight, we’re certainly not making out now.”

“What?” I said, biting down on my lower lip. “What’s a little kiss?”

“A little kiss leads to blue balls,” he said. “And I don’t need a rock-hard dick when I’m watching a movie with you.”

“Why not?” I said, giggling.

“Because before you know it, my dick will be inside you, and then you’ll say that was what I wanted all along.”
