From Nyla: We'll just see about that. I'm a medical professional, you know. I can think of a few ways to get you talking. Muahhhaaaa
I gasp, and my fingers fly across the screen.
To Nyla: Did you forget about your promise to do no harm?
From Nyla: I never said anything about harming you. I can be very nice.
She says and sends me a wink emoji.
I want to think I know what she's alluding to, but I don't want to overstep my bounds.
To Nyla: If that's the case, then I'm more than happy to be on the tail end of your wrath.
From Nyla: Don't say things you don't mean, Nic.
Even though she's not here to say my name out loud, just seeing it typed across the screen does something to me. God, I want to hear her saying my name in my ear while I'm deep inside of her. Want to hear her scream it when I make her come...fuck, I want her.
I realize that I'm rock hard right now, sitting in public at a bar where I know everyone that works or visits here. I need to get control of myself and I need to steer this conversation elsewhere before I have to find a bathroom and jerk off like a horny teenager. That's how Nyla makes me feel, though. Young. Carefree. Happy.
To Nyla: All jokes aside, I know the man you were supposed to meet here tonight. He was a jerk. You deserve someone so much better than that. You looked gorgeous tonight. I hope that's not too forward for me to say, Nyla.
I pray she doesn't say it is.
From Nyla: Of course not. I appreciate the compliment. I was starting to think this dress was bad luck.
She sends me some laughing emojis, and I wonder what she means by that comment.
From Nyla: You still at the bar?
To Nyla: Yeah. You home safe?
From Nyla: Yeah.
To Nyla: Okay, sleep tight. I'm heading home too. I'll see you tomorrow.
I shove my phone in my pocket and down the last of my drink. I need to get home ASAP and deal with this raging hard on in a nice ice-cold shower.
I can't deny this anymore, I do have feelings for Nyla, but I can't see how this can go anywhere.
The victory of tonight's prank and the thought of her calling me by my first name is enough to get me home with a smile on my face.
Unfortunately, that smile disappears when I open my front door and realize there's someone inside.

This shit can't be happening.
Who in their right mind would walk in here? This is supposed to be one of the safest parts of Grand River, but I guess crime can happen anywhere.
I should have listened to my father and gotten that security like he suggested. Of course because the suggestion came from my father, I didn't want anything to do with it.
I walk slowly through the unlocked door and as quietly as I can, I look around the area of my main room and into the open layout of my kitchen. I don't see anyone in there, but there's clear evidence that someone has at least been in my fridge. I'm going to be so upset if someone walked in here just to get some food.
I don't have any weapons in the house again, something my father suggested.
I walk over to the kitchen area, doing my best to make sure that I don't make any noise with my feet, and pick up the biggest butcher's knife that I have. This is going to have to do in the case there truly is someone in here trying to steal something. When I look in the sink, I see a bunch of ice and something that looks like aluminum foil.
