I was sweating despite being in and out of the pool when we finally broke up the game to rest. Lucien took Olivia in his lap and sat down in her chair, wrapping an arm around her waist. She looked down at her lap, a little smile playing around her mouth and a blush creeping over her face.

I sat down at the end of Lorenza’s chair to towel off. She poked me with her foot, winking at me from behind her sunglasses.

“That was…nice to look at,” she said. “Easy on the eyes.”

I grinned. “Thanks.”

“All of you,” she said under her breath. “My God.”

“Let’s not make it weird.”

She leaned forward and kissed me. “I’m just appreciating what God gave every one of you.”

“I wonder why Peregrine isn’t married,” Olivia wondered aloud. “He’s nice looking.”

“Yeah, he is,” Enza agreed, pushing up her glasses and sitting back.

Lucien and I frowned at each other over their heads.

“I’m just looking,” she said, relishing the opportunity to tease him.

Lucien said something about having to get something from his locker and disappeared with Olivia in tow. I was feeling like Enza needed to remember who she belonged to, but with the locker room obviously taken, we had find somewhere else to fuck.

I pulled her around the corner of the pool house, pushing her up against the wall behind a vending machine. She looked so good, almost naked, the straps of her bikini barely covering her body. Our mouths met, our pulses going hard and fast at the prospect of fucking in public. There was no one around and this was our chance.

I lifted her and pressed her against the wall. The strip of black bikini between her thighs was soaked even though she hadn’t gotten in the pool. I growled, peeling it aside, and pushed down the front of my shorts.

We both gasped as I eased inside her, claiming her as mine. I slid my fingers down her stomach, shoving them beneath her bikini bottom. She whimpered as I worked her clit, pumping into her at the same time. The wet sounds of our bodies meeting filled the space, coupled with her moans. It took less than a minute for her to tighten around my cock and cry out her orgasm against my chest.

I followed her seconds later and we collapsed against the wall. Not satisfied, but satiated until I could get her back into my bed.

We waited until we were sure the locker room was empty and showered together. After we’d gotten dressed, I took her hand and led her back into the dining room and down the hall toward the door.

The front door up ahead swung open and Federico stepped through, a blonde woman at his side. Enza faltered, but I slipped my arm around her waist and kept walking. Rico’s eyes fell on us, but he didn’t break stride as we moved closer in the narrow hallway.

As we moved past each other, Rico’s dark gaze locked on mine. For a second that stretched on, we just looked at one another. Then he inclined his head in a single nod and I did the same, relief flooding me. The last bit of weight dropped from my shoulders. Federico might be a bastard, a selfish lover, and an asshole on occasion, but he would stand by his surrender of Enza.

He understood that she was and always would be mine.

CHAPTER THIRTY

LORENZA

Olivia, who was eager to welcome me into the family, organized a trip to a winery in the Hamptons shortly after Cosimo and I announced our engagement. I’d just gotten used to wearing his ring when he finally requested I wear his necklace too. I agreed. We’d talked through our wants, our hard limits, our expectations.

I was finally ready.

He clasped it around my neck and kissed my mouth, his dark eyes soft as they lingered on mine. Then we went out in public with his jewelry glittering on my body for the first time.

We were seated on a stone balcony, overlooking the river. Cosimo and Lucien had stepped aside to have a cigarette and talk in quiet tones several yards away. I sat between Iris, who had already had several glasses of wine, and Adriana, who was newly pregnant and not drinking.

The day was warm and incredibly pleasant and the air smelled of early spring. The sun was pale and partly hidden by the clouds, which I was glad for because I’d worn a strapless sundress and forgotten to put on sunscreen.

We were comparing rings when the necklace was noticed. Iris leaned forward, reaching out to touch the ring of diamonds. “That’s so pretty, it’s so elegant,” she said. “Olivia, look at this.”

Olivia leaned across the table, almost knocking over her wine. We had all had a little bit too much to drink.

“It’s beautiful. Where is it from?” she asked.
