Gray came around and stood next to his brother. Neither one seemed mad, more like concerned. Gray slid his hands into the pocket of his pants. “Can’t do what, Abby? Can’t love two men at once? Can’t let two men love you at the same time? We understand it’s not the norm of society, but that doesn’t make it wrong. We won’t force you into anything, but we’d like you to read some articles on a website to help you decide once and for all if you can try this. As for what we want, all we want is to pamper you, pleasure you, and be with you. Everything else is negotiable.”
“Do you know what Dominants and submissives are, little one?” Remi asked as Gray strode over to a long, narrow desk that doubled as a table behind one of the couches. A computer was there for their use, and he began to boot it up.
Holy shit!“Um ... y-yes. I-I’m reading a book right now a-about that ... um ... lifestyle. Are you ... are you saying you’re ... um ...”
Remi raised an eyebrow and ignored the second question she hadn’t been able to complete. “Book? What book would that be?”
“Um ... it’s fiction. You know, a romance/suspense novel. It’s called Velvet Vixen, by Kristen Anders.” Pink spread across her cheeks. What had made her admit she was reading a smut book? Actually it was more of a classy smut book—Kristen Anders was a popular writer in the BDSM genre, and Abigail had loved the three books she’d written on the lifestyle as well as her vanilla romances.
“Ah, Kristen’s books are excellent, from what I hear—she keeps them as real as possible, encouraging safe, sane, and consensual practices. However, I’m more of a CIA or political thriller fan, so I haven’t read them. She’s actually married to a friend of ours. I’ll have to let her know you enjoy her books. You do enjoy them, right? I mean, you wouldn’t be reading them if you didn’t enjoy them.”
“You know Kristen Anders? Wow ... um ... yes, I do enjoy them. I’m actually ‘friends’ ...” She made air quotes with her fingers. “... with her on Facebook. I’m friends with a lot of authors and other readers on there. It’s a huge community, of sorts. It’s so nice how she interacts with her readers. One of these days, I’ll get to one of her book signings and finally meet her.” A wide grin appeared on Remi’s face and his eyes danced in amusement. “Wh-what?”
He shrugged a shoulder. “I’ll take care of introducing her to you, soon. And I’ve noticed that when you talk about something you love or are passionate about, you seem to forget your nervousness around Gray and me. You did that on the plane, too, when you were talking about your dads.”
Her dads. Abigail’s fathers were a gay couple who’d been together for thirty-two years, but had only been able to legally marry last year after same-sex marriage was allowed in Florida. She’d been born by surrogate—a fact she’d never been ashamed of. She loved her Pa and Dad, Percy and Steven Turner, respectively, and always supported them as they’d supported her—with all their hearts. Percy was a radiologist, while Steven was a pharmacist in the same St. Petersburg hospital as his husband. She’d been glad to see neither Gray nor Remi appeared to be bothered by the fact she had two fathers.
“Come here, Abby.” She went to where Gray was holding the desk chair out for her. “We have about an hour or so before we have to get ready for dinner, so I want you to use that time to read the Q&A page of this website. You can also go into the chat rooms as they are very receptive to questions from newbies.”
She slowly lowered herself into the chair as she stared at the computer screen. “BDSM 101? There’s really a website for that?”
He chuckled. “There seems to be a website for everything these days. Anyway, this is the one the submissives at our club prefer as the site frowns on creepers joining or anyone giving bad advice. Happy reading.”
Kissing her on top of the head, he joined Remi in the sitting area and turned on the TV. Taking a deep but shaky breath, Abigail began to read.
