Page 97 of Seeking Two Lovers

Not for the first time since she’d come over for the weekend, my heart swelled up to bursting.

I had no words to express my gratitude to her or the growing emotions inside me.

I’d have loved to climb back in beside Blaine and snuggle against his body as he’d done with Lily’s with her on the other side, but I’d promised our girl caffeine. Squeezing her hand, I motioned toward her clothes on the chair.

She let out a sigh as though her mind rested where mine did and nodded.

I pulled on a pair of shorts over my morning semi while she quietly dressed.

“I don’t have time for tea—I’ll grab some at work,” she whispered while trailing behind me into the kitchen.

I’d hoped for a few minutes alone with her to work through the thoughts in my head, to put them into words she needed to hear, but nodded.

I stood by the front door and held out my arms.

She didn’t hesitate to walk into them, squeezing me tight.

A heavy sigh left me, and I kissed the top of her head.

Lily tipped her torso away from me, a soft curve on her lips assuring me I was sending her off happy and sated.

“Thank you,” I said, not expanding on the reason, but at the fade of her smile, I realized maybe she wasn’t as okay with the situation as I’d assumed.

“Remember my ex?”

“Yeah.” I pulled her tighter against my chest, needing her to know that shit wouldn’t happen with the three of us.

It wasn’t regret but fear in her big brown eyes as she stared up at me. Such a thing wouldn’t be on her mind unless…

Fuck, this woman.

I squeezed her tighter, my lips curling upward at the renewed euphoria flooding my chest.

“Are you saying you like us, Lily?” I asked, my hands sliding down to cup her fine backside.

“Yep.” She popped the P, so I didn’t think she wasn’t too upset…until she spoke again, that unease lingering in her gaze. “And it scares the hell out of me.”

The truth lay clear in her dark eyes, and I wanted to wrap her even tighter against me, take away the obvious dread inside her.

“As much as I’m in love with Blaine,” I admitted, “I would never kick you to the curb. You do funny—extraordinary things to my insides, and I’m completely enamored with you.”

She giggled, making a rushed exhale of tension relax my shoulders. “Who even uses that word anymore?”

“A man helplessly falling for you,” I offered with a small smile, smoothing her hair back from her face. I hoped she recognized the truth that she wasn’t the only one traversing the path we’d set upon.

“Well damn.” She let out huff, her smile fixed firmly in place again, her eyes brighter than I’d seen since waking. “Now I’m all warm and tingly inside.”

“Ditto, little minx.” I kissed her on the nose as said tingles swept to my extremities, dick included. “You’re welcome to come back here anytime you want, and we’ll take care of that problem for you.”

Please. Sooner than later.

I wasn’t beyond begging. She’d given me so much more than I’d ever expected, beyond opening the door between Blaine and me—she’d begun to fill the emptiness inside me for a soft, feminine touch. Affection and gentleness.

She’d created a longing that I needed her and her alone to satisfy.

Lily stood on her tiptoes, brushing her lips over mine in a sweet kiss that stuttered my heartbeat. “Oh, it’s no problem. More like an absolute pleasure.” One firm press of our mouths, minus the tongue, and she stepped back. “Text me all the naughty stuff this week?”

My dick thickened further at the idea of teasing her with words and videos and what I might get in reply. “Count on it.” I allowed heat to fill my gaze, and the pink spreading over her cheeks brought satisfaction crashing into my chest.
