Page 149 of Seeking Two Lovers

“Your God of Fucking and Blaine of the Thick and Juicy Cocks,” he whispered, heating my face at the nicknames spoken out loud in front of his father.

I tore my attention of Grey’s pale, twinkling eyes for the rearview. The same smiling orbs, the same color blue. It didn’t seem he’d heard, thank God.

“I think I love your son too much for my own good,” I told him.

“There’s no such thing, young lady.”

My cell rang, and I ignored it to eyeball my grinning lovers until it stopped. “Seriously. You two…”

The phone started back up, and I groaned, digging it from my purse.

Haley.

“Shit. I forgot to call her!” I swiped to answer. “Hey. So, you probably already heard?”

“Yeah. It’s all over the news. So glad that fuck face got at least a tiny bit of what he deserved.”

It had been my cousin’s suggestion that Quell had ought to have his tongue forcibly removed from his body without a numbing agent.

“What?” she hollered but muffled as though she’d put her hand over the speaker. “Go suck a dick!”

I snorted a laugh, settling back into my seat. “What’s all that about?”

“Garrett.”

Another laugh escaped me. The roommate she’d found after I moved into Grey and Blaine’s house drove her insane—but she refused to kick him out. The cute guy, while a gay cuddle bug who’d weaseled his way behind her walls, didn’t know when to stop pushing her buttons. He teased her relentlessly, and she pretended to hate it.

But he was a good fill-in for me, Haley had claimed after telling me she secretly had a massive crush on him. A good listener, gorgeously built, smelled absolutely divine—but only liked dick.

At least they had that in common.

“When are you coming home?” she asked. “I need a girls’ night out with all the wine.”

“Soon.” I shot a glance over at Grey who still watched me. “Then again, knowing these two, who the hell can say. I just got the surprise of the century dropped into my lap.”

“Do tell,” Haley murmured as though settling into the couch with a glass of chardonnay.

“Someone called an old friend of mine and made dinner plans.”

“Get. The. Fuck. Out. He didn’t!”

“He did.”

“Oh my God.” Haley snorted with laughter. “Awkward much?”

I could imagine…

But it wasn’t.

Levi opened their home’s front door before I even started up their front walkway. His face lit up the second our gazes landed on each other, and it was like no time had passed since I’d hugged him goodbye at the airport when he sent me off to seek out my two lovers.

“Boo!” I squealed and sprinted forward.

Grinning and gorgeous green eyes glistening, he swept me up into his arms just over the threshold of his and Zeke’s house. “Lil.” He choked on my nickname, squeezing me tight.

Although I recognized the feel of him holding me, his toned body no longer felt like home, nor was he my best friend who used to know me inside and out. At one time, I’d thought I would spend the rest of my life with him, but our terrible choices and the resulting heartache had been worth the pain.

We laughed, tears wetting both our cheeks when he finally set me onto my feet. I grabbed hold of his face, peering into his beautiful eyes. Any hint of haunted sadness had diminished due to the man I saw in my periphery, and what had once been a childhood crush had become pure, platonic emotions.
