“You keep me there alone for too long, I will tell Mum your news first.”

Before I can say anything, he walks out of the office, and I shake my head because I know he will. I need to make sure all my work is done at least an hour before I leave, as I would like to see Saylor before dinner.

When you need to be somewhere, why do meetings always go over? Lee has been calling me, and has sent a few messages saying some not so nice things, but he finally stopped when David called him to explain what had happened.

A few hiccups had come from the app, and the data being put in there, then once that was finally sorted, the company I am working with for the meal plans, had almost one hundred questions for me.

I’m not pissed off about being late for dinner, I’m pissed off about not seeing Saylor beforehand.

I sent her a few messages through the day to see how she was feeling, to ask how Hayley was, and to warn her about the Adams being there. I had to stop myself from laughing when she replied that she might have some fun with them and ask if the son needed a girl, because she has some friends. The worst thing is, I don’t even think she is joking about it.

Walking into my parents’ house, I’m met by Lee, who looks like he is about to punch me.

“You prick-”

“Oh, shut up, you pissed off to China, and I’ve had to put up with this every week. I’m sure you can take one week off my hands,” I cut him off, because now he’s home, and even being with Zhi, he will still have to listen to our mother moan about it to him.

“Have no idea how you’ve been doing it. I would have packed my shit and left.”

I frown at him. “You did.”

“Aiden, about time you get here. David told us what was happening. Is it all sorted now?” my dad asks, handing me a beer, and we make our way to the sitting area.

“For the night, but back at it tomorrow.” I give a small nod towards the Adams and press a kiss on the cheek for my mum, then sit down next to Lee.

Lee leans in closer to me, and whispers, “I called Zhi, telling her to come a little later, because you were still at work.”

I give him a small nod and try to listen to the conversation happening, but I can’t seem to focus on it, because I know we both have more important things to talk about.

“Aiden, have you spoken to your friends about helping my sister?” Bruce asks. I need someone to punch him. I would do it myself, but I’m not sure if I will stop at one punch.

“What are you doing to help your sister?” I ask, and Lee lets out a small snicker.

“What’s that for?” Bruce snaps at Lee, who shakes his head at him, because we both know he isn’t doing anything.

“You need to get a job to help your sister, and the only reason her event is even running is because of Aiden. Without him, she wouldn't be able to do anything,” Lee snaps back at him, and I lean back on the sofa and let the show happen in front of me. Because it feels nice having someone take my side with the Adams. Before I was left fighting alone. “You think my brother will be there for your sister all the time, but he won’t.”

“He will, and we all know it,” Bruce replies with a bite, and my lips curl up in a smile, because he has no idea what the fuck he talking about. They are about to get the shock of their lives.

Lee chooses not to say anything back, looking over his shoulder at me, and I glance over to Mum just watching us. You can see the joy in her eyes, seeing both her boys together in the same house again, but she’s completely oblivious.

“When do you go back to China, Lee?” Dad asks him, which is something they have been asking since he got home, and he kept telling them he wasn’t sure. And he wasn’t lying. He wanted to see if Zhi would like it here, and if she would be willing to live here with him.

It didn’t take her long to say yes. I think the main reason she said yes was because she saw how happy he was being with his brother again, and I’m so happy that he’s staying. I’ve missed my baby brother.

“That’s one of the things I wanted to talk to you about. I’ve decided to stay and get back to working at the hospital-” Lee stops when my mum lets out a small scream of excitement and runs over to him, and he quickly gets up to give her a hug.

She's been waiting for him to come home, just as much as I have.

We’ve made our mother happy, and we’re about to make her just as upset all in one day.

“Lee, this is the best news I’ve heard all year! I’m so happy!” Mum pulls away from him and wipes the tears away from her cheeks. “Did you know about this?” She points to me, and I smile and give her a nod.

“The Kane family are back together,” my dad says from his seat on the sofa, and I turn to face him. All I see is a huge smile on the man's face.

My phone vibrates in my pocket, and I dig it out, looking over at David to see if he pulls out his phone, but he doesn’t.
