“With an A.” I start laughing into his chest and shake my head as I look up at him.
I look back over at Hayley before I walk over to everyone else standing by the kitchen counter, and Zhi hands me a glass of water.
Anika comes over to me, and I smile. “Jason and I will take Hayley home. I think you and Aiden need to talk without the-”
“You don’t have to do that,” I cut her off. I already ask them both to do some much.
“We’re not asking you, we’re telling you, we are taking Hayley home.” With that, she walks away before I can say anything to fight my case.
I suppose Aiden and I do need to talk, because this baby does change a lot of things for us.
For me, my income will be a big one. I can still teach yoga, but it will be more towards pregnancy than anything else. I will have to put my studio on hold, because the money dad left me, I will now need to use for other things, and all this I will have to talk to Aiden about too.
“Looks like I get a sleepover.” Aiden turns to face me with a big smile spread across his face.
“Looks that way.” I turn to walk over to Jason and Anika, so I can talk to them before they head home.
“Thank you,” I tell them, and they both pull in for a hug, and I start laughing through tears. Everyone needs friends like these two in their life. “Any problems, call me, and-”
“Yes, yes, we know. But don’t worry about her, we got this. Tonight, you make a decision on what you want to do, and what the future is for you and Aiden, and until you have answers, you can’t come home.” Anika waves her finger at me, like a mum would do to her kids when they mean something. I press my lips together, but I can’t stop the smile from spreading.
“I promise.” I know what Aiden wants, and in my heart, I know what I want, but I need to talk to him about Hayley, and how it affects everything. I suppose I have to tell him about the fears I have about our baby having personalities like Hayley.
It’s going to be a long night.
* * *
I didn’t know I would be staying the night, so I didn't bring any clothes with me. I grab one of Aiden’s t-shirts and head out to the sitting area where Aiden is.
The moment I come into view, I stop for a moment as he moves his eyes over my body, and smiles at me when he reaches my eyes. I can’t help but do the same. God, the man is so sexy, and in jogging bottoms and a plain one t-shirt showing off his tattoos, he’s the best view in the world.
“Do I pass?” Aiden asks as my eyes linger on his tattoos for a little longer.
“A man with tattoos has always been a weakness,” I reply, walking over to him, and he wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me close. “I think you should get more.” I move my finger over his collarbone and smile. “I think one here would look sexy.”
“I will get one tomorrow.” He crashes his lips hard into mine, and I grab his t-shirt as it knocks me back a little, and all I can think about is how much I’ve missed his lips on mine. Fuck, this man is my soulmate, he’s made for me and no one else. His lips break free, and I moan, annoyed by his move away from me.
Aiden starts laughing, and I look up at him. “I have plans to keep you naked for the rest of the night, but I think we need to talk first.” He takes my hand and pulls me to the couch, getting me to sit on top of him.
“How about you have me naked first?” I ask, bringing my lips closer to his, but he pulls his head back, and I sit back up. “Fine. Do you want this baby? Don’t say I want what you want, do you want it?” I ask again. He keeps saying he wants what I want, but I need to know what he wants.
“I want the baby.” He says the words without any stutter, like he's been thinking about it all night, and he knows what he wants. “But I have a feeling you don’t.”
“Honestly, I do, but I don’t.” I adjust on his lap a little, my hands moving through his hair as I look into his eyes. “I’m scared they will be like Hayley, and I don’t think I can cope with another one.”
Aiden places his hands on my thighs, softly moving his thumbs over my skin. “I was worried about the same thing, but not for me. I would love that baby no matter what, but for you, I can see how hard it is with Hayley, and I don’t think I could watch you so drained out all the time. So I spoke to a Lee who has a few doctor friends who works in the antenatal department, and they have said the chances of that happening are so slim, it’s almost impossible.” Aiden stops when my body relaxes a little, because that answer has taken so much weight off my shoulders. “So what else is on your mind, now that we have those two things cleared up?” I start biting on my inner cheek, because I know he’s going to think I’m crazy, and I know he will be there through the whole pregnancy and afterwards, so I feel stupid saying it.
“You’re going to think it’s stupid.”
“I already thought that, and I can already tell you what it is you’re thinking,” he replies, and I roll my eyes at him. “You do know I’m a lot older than you, so my brain-”
“Shut up,” I cut him off, making him laugh.
“You won’t need to worry about money. I know you love your job, so keep doing it, I won’t stop you. But don’t worry about not having enough of anything.”
“I feel weird just taking your money. Dad left me som-”
“Saylor, you’re not taking my money, so stop thinking like that. And secondly, your dad gave you that money for your dream yoga studio, and that’s what you will spend it on. He had a dream for you, so fulfill it. I’m here, so please don’t worry.”
