“Send everyone home. No one works on the system until I know the system is safe. The fraud team works all night, I don’t care.”

“Sir, your system is clean, so-”

“Check it again,” I snap him.

Now I know he's one of the best hackers out there, but he’s only been in there a few minutes. I want a full check, every wire, every network.

The only good thing about this is that there is nothing on my new app anywhere, but in my head. Now my evening will be spent leaning against this railing, watching my team fix one fuck up, when I’ve only just finally sorted out the other.

“Go home, have a shower.” David walks into the office and places a coffee on my desk.

“I did.” I left the office at two this morning, then came back at four. I sent out an email to every staff member, telling them that they will not be at work today. I set the fraud team home, as I need them to be fresh and not half asleep when they come in today to look through the system again.

“I meant go home and sleep.”

“I will sleep when my system is clean.” I continue looking through my computer to see what else it is that I need to do.

“And I’m sure the team is working non-stop on it,” he tells me. I lean back in my chair, as he knows very well I’m not leaving until I know one thousand percent that my system is clean and who hacked it.

“I know you haven’t been sitting here doing nothing, so let's see the list of names you think might have done it.” David puts his hand out for me to pass him the paper.

I was here early, working out who it could be, and I don’t think any of my staff are that stupid to sell my information, knowing they will never work anywhere ever again. That didn’t stop me from checking them out. I’m not even halfway through the staff yet, but so far, everyone is clear.

“I’m working down the list.” David sits down and starts looking through it.

“I see Anika was the first one you looked at.” David looks up at me with a smirk. Now she has not once given me the vibe she isn’t here to work, but it’s best to check the person that will be first on the team.

I pick up the paper and look through the business pages. “So Frankie Fair said he wants to keep his new app quiet and doesn’t want to give a date until he is happy,” I say and glance up at David as he begins to nod with me.

What is Frankie Fair’s game? What does he have planned that he’s not saying a word about?

“Aiden, go home, or go see Saylor. Get some steam out.” He starts laughing.

“She messaged to cancel,” I tell him.

I scan through the paper again. Now I will admit I wasn’t happy about it, as I did want to see her. I needed to see her just to stop thinking about this fucked up situation.

“Since when has that stopped you? Go to the house and take her to dinne-”

“I asked, and she said no before I even finished the question. Her words were ‘this is fun, no need to add anything to that,’” I cut David off as I put the paper down.

“So you are not asking Saylor for the fundraiser?”

“I mentioned it to her, and she said no. I don’t know what to say when it comes to Saylor. I mean, I just wanted it to be fun, but I don’t know.” I have no words to really say about what is happening with Saylor at the moment. I need to be around her so she can help me relax, not just by having sex with her, but she just gives me that strength to just be me.

“Everyone will think she’s just another bimbo.” David stands up, and I glance over at him as he taps the desk. “But she’s not just another bimbo, is she?”

I shift in my chair as I watch David walking out of the office. Is he right? Am I looking for more with Saylor than I thought? The moment I told Lee about Saylor, I knew then something was special about her. Never really spoke to him about a girl before, but I have to think about this.

I can’t get to involved with her, she said it herself. I’m older than her, and maybe she’s right, that we should be keeping this as sex and leave it like that.

I glance over at the door as David pops his head into the office. “Anika is asking, shall she continue with the apps, as she can’t log in?”

“Tell her to hold off until we give the word,” I reply back and hear the door close.

I open Anika’s file and start looking through what work she has made on it. Since the company got big, I never get the chance to sit and make apps anymore. This is the first time I’ve gotten to design my app, not just give the idea, but really design it, and that’s given me the itch to finish what I’ve started.
