“No, the team said they had an idea, and I sent them home,” David replies as he looks through the file.

“Well, read it, then we can talk.”

“Aiden-”

“They lost me money, so-”

“Fine.” David walks out of the office, and I look back over at the screen.

“Sorry, about that,” I tell them both.

“Aiden, find a girl, it’ll help loosen you up,” Lee tells me, and Zhi slaps his arm. I tell her to give him another from me and smile when she does.

“I have a girl, and she makes me forget about work.” I wasn't going to mention Saylor, but I can’t stop thinking about her. When I’m with her, I don’t even think of work. I don’t think of anything really, just her and how to make her forget about her day.

“You have one girl?”

“Aiden, it was very nice to finally put a face to the name, but I think this is a conversation for brothers.” Zhi gives me a wave.

“I hope to meet you again, in person next time.”

Lee gives her a kiss, then looks back over at me. “So this girl, I want to know as much as you can give me. She must be special if she has Aiden Kane thinking about her and her alone.”

I lean back into my chair and think about how to describe Saylor to him. “She’s playful, carefree, and at the moment this is just fun.”

“You’ve had a huge smile on your face. What’s her name?”

“Saylor… she’s younger-”

“How young?” I take a sip of my coffee, not sure if I can lie about her age, and only make it a few years difference. “She’s legal, right?”

“Yes.” I can’t believe he asked me that, but I was taking my time answering him. “Twenty-three, but she acts older than that. She keeps her family close, not really telling me much about them. Her dad is in the army, and she’s a yoga instructor.”

“Aiden, stop, I don’t care how old she is, or what her family does. I care that you’ve smiled the whole time you’ve been talking about her. I don’t think I’ve seen you smile like this over a girl, ever,” Lee tells me.

And I have to say that he’s right. I’ve been with a few women, and not one of them has ever made me feel half of what Saylor is making me feel for her, and she’s done it in record time too.

“Like I said, this is just some fun.” With my new app, and this big fuck up, I really don’t have time for anything more than that right now, never mind someone twelve years younger than me.

“I get a funny feeling that this fun might last a while.”

I let out a fit of laughter. “When are you planning on coming back home for a bit?” I want to change the subject from Saylor because I don’t have answers myself.

“We were thinking we would come for about a week, but don’t tell mum about it.” I raise my eyebrows at him. How does he plan on hiding her?

I spoke to Lee a few days ago and told him not to stress over what mum thinks about Zhi. I mean, she will hate any girl we bring home, unless it’s Cathy.

“If you do, let me know, and I’ll keep you hidden,” I say with a chuckle, because I don’t know how, but it would be nice to have him home for a bit. My mum comes to my house sometimes, so I wouldn’t keep them there, just book a room down the street for them. That way, they get their own space too.

“Thanks, now I will let you get back to making someone cry.” I burst out laughing at his comment. He knows me so well. “Before you end the call, send me a picture of the girl.”

“I will try and get one-”

“Well, you send me a picture or I call you every night and ruin your time with her.” Before I can say anything, Lee ends the call, and I lean back and drink my coffee.

Today is going to be another long day, and to add to that, I’ll be listening to Anika’s presentation for the apps. There is always one thing I worry about, and that’s mixing business with my personal life, and having Saylor being best friends with someone that works for me, is mixing them. I should have walked away, but she never asked me questions if her friend would get the job, or what she’s working on. Now, for all I know, Anika might have told her, but Saylor has never asked me about work in that way. I think that's why I haven’t walked away. She makes me smile, makes me forget, and I get to have some fun, so why ruin it.
