Page 63 of Thalia De Luca

Alexander hasn’t called me or texted me which is good because I need space to breathe and be away from him for a little while.

Obviously, that’s not going to work because we have to have a meeting with one another today, probably to discuss the wedding.

I do want to talk to my father about my role as the future capo.

I don't want to sound spoiled or anything because I am grateful for everything I have but I have always wanted to do what my father does. He looks so powerful and content with what he is doing. I have also been in his office for some meetings, and I like how demanding my dad is. I want to do that. But obviously not in a mean way, in a badass bitch kind of way.

But Alexander thinks I would fail.

I still haven’t forgotten what he said. It hurts when I think about it but it’s better not to talk to Alexander about that or how he made me feel.

I am going to take over the mafia just like I have always wanted to.

I walk out of my room, and I look at Killian's room before passing it.

He just seems so different, and he looks sad. I have never seen my brother sad before. He has always been either douchey or energetic. He likes to mess around with people and tease them, but now he is just always in his room and has a bad attitude.

He has a sad look in his eyes. And for some reason I have a feeling things for him are about to get a whole lot harder.

I look at his door one more time before walking to my dad's office. I walk in and see my dad on the phone.

"Don't worry amore everything will be fine. I will make sure of it," my dad assured. I knock on the door and he looks up at me. "Thalia just got here for the meeting. I'll see you in a little bit. Drive safe alright?" my dad asks in a soft tone. "I love you."

My dad hangs up and puts his phone on the desk before looking at me.

"Was that mom?" I ask when I sit down on the chair in front of his desk.

"Yea. She went to the mall with Emma to buy something for Val and Mia."

I furrow my eyebrows. "Val and Mia are coming over?"

Val and Mia are my aunt and uncle, not by blood, but they are very close to my dad. Mia is a journalist in America and Val has been traveling all over the world, so I haven't really heard from him.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"I will tell you in a little but let's wait for Alexander."

Suspicious but okay.

Then I remember Killian.

"I think something is wrong with Killian," I claim. My dad looks up at me. "He hasn't been acting the same since I left. Did something happen?"

My dad takes his hands off the computer and turns to look at me. "I don't know. I tried talking to him, but he doesn't want to talk. I know something happened though."

"What do you think happened?"

My dad lets out a sigh. "No clue but you're right, he doesn't seem like himself."

"I can try talking to him," I offer.

My dad nods his head. "Make sure it's soon though because his birthday is coming up and I want him to be happy you know?" My dad and Killian don't have the best relationship. Killian always likes to challenge my dad and then argues with him about everything. I have a feeling that Killian and my dad are going to have a lot of issues when he gets older. I nod my head at the same time we hear a knock on the door. "Come in."

The door opens and I already know that it's Alexander who walks in. I don't make any moves to look at him, I just stare straight at my father.

"What do you need?" Alexander asks as he sits next to me in the chair.
