"Thalia you aren't going outside dressed like that. Over my dead fucking body," my dad spits. "You really think I want men who are twice your age staring at you, thinking about fucking you in the alley? Hell no."
“Ace, it’s just a dress. Plus Thalia knows how to handle herself, remember?” My mom raises her eyebrow at my dad and his face seems to soften a little bit when he looks down at her.
I swear she always puts him in a good mood and can make him feel better.
“Ari, I don’t want her dressed like that.”
"But-" I start.
"Plus, you're grounded," my dad looks up at me as I widen my eyes.
The last time I checked, I was an adult.
"Grounded?" I repeat.
"Yes."
"Why am I grounded?"
"Because of what you did the other day in the office. I don't know who you think you are, Thalia, but I won't let anyone disrespect me like that, especially my daughter. And what you said yesterday about Alexander was just unnecessary. Let me remind you that you also said it in front of Leo and Emma."
"He said shit too," I argue. "And did you even find a punishment for your son? That one who snuck out?"
"Don't worry about your brother, Thalia. We aren't talking about him," my dad says, dismissing the subject about my brother. "You aren't going anywhere. Last time I checked you are living in my house so once you move out then you can do whatever the fuck you want, Thalia, but until then you listen to me."I scoff and look at my mom but before I can ask her my dad speaks up again. "And if you try to bring your mom in this, I'll stop you right now. Go to your room, Thalia."
I turn around and start heading to the front door. My father won't even know if I leave or not because he can't see the entrance of the front door from where he and my mom are in the living room.
I open the front door and close it before walking down the front steps and heading towards my car. Once I get inside, I start the car and then pull out of the estate after going through the security.
They are just mad that I don't want to go through with their stupid plan.
They should know that I wouldn't want to go through with it. They know how much I despise Alexander.
The day I marry Alexander is the day I go blind.
I pull up to the restaurant and get out, giving the key to the valet guy. I walk inside the restaurant and look around for Cameron.
Cameron said that he wanted to take me out to dinner, and I would never refuse dinner. He always has the best taste in food. He also wanted to spend time with me since we didn't hang out the night of my birthday.
I see him sitting down at a table with a chair in front of him. He is wearing a white dress shirt and his hair is also styled. He looks good.
I walk towards his table, and he sees me walking so he stands up and we hug each other, and he kisses me on my cheek.
"You look beautiful as always, Thalia," Cameron says before letting me go.
I take a seat from the chair across from him and he sits down in his seat. "Thank you. You look great as well," I say and give him a wink. "Have you ordered yet?"
"No, I was waiting for you."
"Sorry if I took long. I got held up with my parents," I say while rolling my eyes.
"Yea I know how it feels. Glad I moved out but they still bug."
"I love my parents don't get me wrong, and I am thankful for everything they have done for me but sometimes they can be so frustrating."
"You should move out," Cameron suggested.
"If only it was that easy," I mutter before picking up the menu and looking through all of the options.
