“Uhumm,” Allison cleared her throat. “Damn, I knew y’all had it bad, but this is some romance erotica level sexual tension. Y’all have got me heating up over here just watching the two of you.” Grabbing her shirt at the neck, she fanned herself like she needed to be cooled off. “I’m going to start taking my clothes off soon if y’all keep this up and things are gonna get weird in here real quick.”
Ricardo pulled his eyes away from Lisandra and rubbed his hand over the back of his neck and tried to think about anything other than biting that lip of Lisandra’s while he climbed over her body.
“You sure you want to sleep in here tonight?” Allison asked. He turned back to them and she was watching Lisandra, who had not taken her eyes off of him. God, he hoped she had changed her mind. He needed her in his bed.
Lisandra watched him for another minute, not answering Allison right away. He was beginning to think she’d decided to change her mind about their sleeping arrangements when she shook her head and looked at Allison with a small, smile. “No. You’re not getting rid of me that easily.”
“Ugh,” Allison sighed, rolling her eyes.
“It was a good plan,” Lisandra said, “but I’m on to you.”
“What?” Allison dramatically pressed her hands to her face. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Lisandra narrowed her eyes. “Sometimes I think you forget how well I know you.”
“Would someone like to clue me in over here?” he held his hand up.
“Oh, that,” Lisandra motioned her hand between him and her, “she made those comments on purpose. She was hoping I’d get distracted by all your, ya know,” she motioned her hands up and down the length of his body, “that, and decide against staying in here with her tonight.”
He smirked. “So, all of this,” he ran his hand down his chest, and moved over to the bed and leaned over Lisandra, “wasn’t enough to entice you to stay the night with me? I’m going to have to step up my game.”
He brushed his lips over her ear, ran his hand down the side of her face and cupped her chin, then grazed his mouth against hers. When she sighed against his mouth and leaned into him and kissed him back, he thought he’d convinced her, but just as fast as she’d caved to his kiss, she pulled away.
“You’re not playing fair,” she practically moaned, and damn if that didn’t make him want to tear her clothes off right there, and he didn’t give a damn if Allison watched or not.
“I never claimed to be a gentleman,” he said.
He leaned in further, trying to kiss her again, but she put her hand on his chest and pushed him back. “Sorry, Casanova, but you’re not going to change my mind. Not tonight.”
Allison tossed a pillow at the two of them and they all started to laugh. “If the two of you aren’t going to get your sexy on, it’s time for you to get going, Grandpa, so I can get my beauty rest.”
Ricardo laughed, then he leaned in and gave Lisandra a chaste kiss. “I just came to say goodnight.” He winked. “But if you decide you miss me or all of this,” he grabbed her hand and ran it down his chest, “at any point tonight, I’ll make sure to keep our bed warm for you.”
Lisandra’s jaw dropped, and Allison’s laughter was reignited. Without another word, he turned around and walked out the door and slowly shut it behind him. As soon as he was on the other side of the door, he took a deep breath and all his fake calm left him. Damn, he wanted her in his bed. Their bed. They’d only spent the night together a couple times, but he already knew he wanted her in bed with him every night, forever. The walk to his room was slow. He was dreading a night without her by his side, especially now that he was hard as a rock. Maybe if he wished hard enough, she would sneak out of her shared room with Allison and join him before the night was over.
Damn. It was going to be a long night.
ChapterTwenty-One
Lisandra
Allison had always been the type who could go from one hundred to sleeping like the dead in an instant. It had never bothered her before, but Lisandra found herself laying on her side, facing her best friend with a glare. How dare she fall asleep as soon as the lights were out and leave Lisandra awake and alone? Her mind free to wander on its own. And there was only one place, one person whom it kept landing on. As worried as she was that Melina would go after Allison just to hurt her, she missed Ricardo’s embrace. It might seem silly, but she had already grown to love sleeping in the comfort of his strong embrace, and she missed the feeling of his arms wrapped around her. His chest moving up and down beneath her face while she drifted to sleep. What if he’d spoiled her and she could never sleep without him wrapped around her again?
She rolled over so her back was facing Allison, who was beginning to snore and no, it was not cute like an angel like Allison always tried to suggest. She reached over to the nightstand where her phone was charging and grabbed it and pulled it over to the bed with her. The sudden burst of light when the screen lit up was so bright it made her squint, and she quickly turned the brightness down to its lowest setting and turned the sound to vibrate only so she wouldn’t wake up Allison. Well, that was if he answered, which he probably wouldn’t because he was most likely sleeping. Still, she decided it was worth a shot.
She pulled up Ricardo’s number, which she had recently put in her contacts, and sent him a text.
Are you sleeping?
Only a few seconds passed before three little bubbles lit up her screen and she couldn’t stop the smile that spread across her face. She was turning into a schoolgirl with a crush.
Can’t. My mind is preoccupied.Ricardo text back.
So is mine. What’s got your mind pulling the late shift? She asked.
There’s this girl. I’m crazy about her. She’s all I can think about.
The smile that spread across her face was so big she felt her cheeks stretching.
