“We were just leaving,” she said to the boy. Then she winked at him, and he turned bright red. Ricardo wanted to rip his eyeballs out and erase his memories of Lisandra permanently.

Lisandra wasn’t remotely perturbed by the boy’s intrusion if the way she laughed while she dragged Ricardo from the theater was any indication. Ricardo wasn’t as forgiving of the boy’s intrusion, and knowing that boy might have gotten even a glimpse of Lisandra’s bared thighs made his wicked impulses writhe with the desire to remove the image from the boy permanently. Still, his desire to stay by Lisandra’s side was stronger. That was something new for him. He couldn’t remember the last time his desire to follow his heart instead of his rage was his priority. Well, that wasn’t true. Even with the many years that had passed since the last time he’d allowed anything close to feelings to surface within him, he had never forgotten what had been the true motivation behind him embracing his inner monster. More accurately, who had been his motivation.

Get away from me! Monster!

The sound of Lisandra’s laugh pulled him out of the wormhole those memories were pulling him into. Forgotten was his past; forgotten was the teenage boy who’d ruined their movie night. When he looked into Lisandra’s eyes and saw the light and happiness that was reflected back at him, knowing that she felt that happy while she was with him, all the anger and bad memories were extinguished. Nothing mattered except that moment between the two of them.

“You’re so beautiful,” he said, never taking his eyes off of her. He wouldn’t have thought it possible before, but her eyes lit up even brighter.

Moving closer to him, Lisandra wrapped her arms around his neck, and he sat his hands on her hips and held her close. “So are you,” she whispered. Then her mouth was on his again, consuming him. One minute they were standing in the movie theater parking lot making out like teenagers, the next he had her in his arms and was running like lightning back to his house. The need to have her to himself was so overwhelming he forgot all about the car they had driven to town as he ran with his arms wrapped tightly around her. Around the woman who was quickly becoming the most important thing in his life. God, he hoped she felt the same way.

Chapter Thirteen

Lisandra

Her body was on fire. She’d learned enough about her new body as a vampire to know it wasn’t supposed to be possible, but she could swear her heart was pounding in her chest—her blood rushing with adrenaline and desire. One minute they’d been in a parking lot and then they were back home…home… she’d have to revisit that thought later because the only thing she could concentrate on was the way Ricardo’s tongue felt against her skin when he slowly ran the tip down the side of her neck until he met her collar bone. She gasped when his teeth nipped her over-sensitized skin. Ricardo responded with a growl and then he was gripping the back of her thighs and she was off the floor. She wrapped her legs around his waist just before he pinned her against the wall with his body. She could feel his erection through his pants when he pressed against her, and her body craved more. More contact, more friction, just more of him in every way.

Ricardo slowly dragged his lips from her neck back to her mouth and she immediately opened to him. When his tongue caressed her own, she moaned into the kiss, and rocked her hips against him, trying to find the friction her body desperately craved.

“Agh!” Ricardo growled against her lips and Lisandra’s body quivered against him as her hips came back down, her hot core again rubbing against his hardness. The only thing separating the two of them was a couple layers of clothing. “Lisandra,” Ricardo’s voice was harsh. “If you keep that up, I won’t be able to stop.”

She kissed him hard before pulling back just enough to say, “I don’t want you to stop.”

Ricardo was breathing so hard she could feel his chest rise and fall against her own. She moved her hands down his shoulders to his chest. He was solid muscle beneath her hands, and she moved her hands to the buttons on his shirt and started to unbutton them, but he placed one of his hands over hers, stopping her. When she looked up, she could see the concern in his eyes.

“Lisandra, we don’t have to,” he said.

She shook her head and pulled her hands from his grip, bringing them up to hold his face between her hands. “I know,” she said, “but I want to. I want you. Hell, I’ve never wanted anyone or anything the way I want you right now. I need you.”

It wasn’t the first time he growled, and it quickly became the sexiest sound she’d ever heard, but a moment later his features softened. He ran his hand through her hair and gently held the back of her head. “I need you, too, but are you sure? Because if we do this, you will own me.”

“Good.”

That was all she said. All she was able to say because Ricardo crushed his mouth to hers as soon as the word left her lips, and they were moving until she felt him bend to lay her down on a bed. She let go of his face and threw out the idea of unbuttoning his shirt. She needed to feel him right then. In a split second, she ripped his shirt from his body before doing the same with her own. Ricardo paused when she laid before him, bared and ready, and he looked at her with so much emotion swirling in those sapphire eyes of his that she swore she could physically feel his eyes caressing her body.

“I am going to fall in love with you.” He said it so quietly she was sure she wouldn’t have been able to hear him had she still been human, but she wasn’t, and she did hear him.

She didn’t just hear the words. They warmed her so deeply she felt them in her soul. After everything she’d been through at the hands of her ex, she had expected to be terrified of those words. Instead, she wanted to hear him say them again and again, and she found herself wanting to repeat the sentiment. “Then we will both be falling at the same time.”

Ricardo lowered himself on the bed, his hips between her legs, and kissed her tenderly. Gone was the rushed feeling from only moments before. He ran his hands slowly down her body, pausing to caress each breast tenderly, before he brought his hand back up and positioned his arms on either side of her face. He kissed her again and oh so slowly pushed inside her. Lisandra gasped and arched into him, opening herself to him. When he began to move inside her, she wrapped her legs around his waist. She ran her hands down his back, caressing his muscles in his back as he continued to move, making love to her. She’d never felt more complete than she did in that moment.

“You are perfect,” he whispered against her ear.

His words sent shivers through her body as they moved together, and she could feel her pleasure climbing, her climax growing closer with every roll of Ricardo’s hips. Ricardo sat up and gripped her hips, raising her off the bed and adjusting their connection so that he moved deeper inside her. His thrusts grew harder, faster, and he groaned with each thrust. Lisandra gripped his arms, digging her nails into him and grinding her hips into his thrusts. “Ahh, Ricardo,” she sighed. Her core clamped down around Ricardo just before her climax crashed into her. “Ah!” Her cry was cut off by Ricardo’s kiss. His kiss swallowed her cry of pleasure, and his movements became more frantic. He thrusted his hips, while she rode out the waves of her orgasm until he groaned into her mouth and stilled above her and she felt the warmth of his orgasm fill her, as their orgasms met in a crescendo of pleasure. Ricardo stayed like that for a moment, both of them breathing hard, and then he rolled to his side and pulled her onto his chest. With a finger beneath her chin, he tilted her face up and gave her a gentle kiss. When he pulled back, she smiled at him and her heart skipped when he smiled back up at her.

“I think I was wrong,” he said. “I think I may have already fallen.”

She smiled and pressed her cheek against his chest while he held her. It was safe to say, Ricardo wasn’t the only one who had fallen, and hard.

ChapterFourteen

Melina

Melina clenched her fists and dug her nails into her hands so hard blood trickled out the crevices between her fingers. She had swallowed every ounce of pride she ever held and forced herself to come back to give her best fake apology to the bitch who was currently sleeping cuddled up next to her maker and the only man she had ever loved. Lisandra and Ricardo were in his bed holding each other like they were long lost lovers who’d just been reunited, and they were both obviously naked beneath the thin white sheet. First that bitch moved in and brought her pathetic human friend with her, and then she just moves her retched ass into Ricardo’s bed! Melina watched them for an hour without moving or so much as taking a breath, afraid they might hear her and wake. Visions of Lisandra’s dead body kept her mind busy. She decided she would play nice and unravel Ricardo’s fascination with his newly turned pet project from the inside, but in no world had she suspected him to be so infatuated with the girl so fast. Even while he slept, he held the girl close and smiled. She had never seen him smile like that; like he was truly happy. In all the time she’d spent with him, he’d never so much as hugged her despite her obvious affection. Melina wasn’t subtle and there was no way Ricardo had not picked up on her feelings for him, still he’d never shown even a glimpse of interest in returning her desire.

When she felt her rage beginning to win out over her desire to have Ricardo forgive her and welcome her back into his good graces, she turned around and practically ran out of his bedroom, and almost immediately ran into that bitch of a human, Allison.

Allison shoved Melina back and glared at her before she bit her head off. “Watch where the hell you’re going!”
