Chapter 7
Ifelthelplessand sad in that moment. Not actively sad, just sad as a whole. I was crying to a beautiful man about being ugly. Could I get more cliché? It was embarrassing, and I wanted to run away. I looked around for an exit, but Lucas’s hand on my elbow didn’t feel like it was slipping.
He pulled me out of the back of the bar and up the grand staircase. Down to his suite, which was close to the scene of the crime that was my first day at the resort with Warren. He opened the door and motioned me in, making the choice mine. I couldn’t tell him no. Walking inside, I jumped when Warren and Andrew appeared behind Lucas.
“That was creepy.” I sniffled, still feeling emotional.
“We’re going to talk. Just the four of us. No interruptions.” Warren cupped the back of my head and pressed a kiss to my forehead. “Sound okay?”
I nodded and let him pull me over to the bed. He let me pick my spot and I quickly arranged myself at the head of the bed, in the pillows that smelled like Lucas. I pulled one to my chest and inhaled deeply while watching the three brothers.
Lucas settled next to me while Andrew and Warren settled at the other end of the bed. It was a strange situation to find myself in. Half of me was waiting on them to pounce on me while the other half of me was hoping to be held and comforted because I was having an emotional moment.
“Cupcake thinks she’s vanilla. Imitation vanilla.” Lucas said my words back harshly and shook his head. “The ex you mentioned. He have a name?”
I curled up even tighter with the pillow. “Milo. He’s not important, though.”
“If he managed to convince you that you aren’t perfect in every way, then yeah, he is important.” Andrew rolled his neck and yanked at his tie. “What’d he do?”
“I…no. This is embarrassing. Telling you three my dirty secrets is weird. You would’ve used this to torture me when we were younger.”
Warren sighed. “We’re not those boys, Cupcake.”
Lucas pushed my hair behind my ear and stroked my neck. “We wouldn’t hurt you. Whatever you tell us is safe.”
I looked around at them, three beautiful men who were seemingly interested in what I had to say. They wanted to know why I was sad. They seemed to care. “I dated Milo for two years. A couple of weeks ago, I found him cheating on me. It’s so stupidly cliché. I came home early from Macy’s to surprise him with dinner and he was there with another woman.”
“What a fucking idiot.” Andrew yanked his tie loose and tossed it on the bed. “Give me a last name and I’ll take care of him.”
I shook my head. “It’s best that it happened. We’d been together for two years and I still hadn’t wanted to move in with him. I’d done it to stop the fighting about it, but going home to him filled me with dread.”
“And you get to be here with us.” Lucas shrugged. “Maybe it’s selfish on my part, but I’m glad that asshole fucked up so horribly. It gives us a chance to show you how beautiful you are.”
My face heated. “I think you’ve all lost your minds.”
Andrew’s hand snapped out, faster than I ever would’ve imagined, and grabbed my ankle. With a tug, he easily pulled me down the bed and into his chest. Holding me in his lap, he stared down at me and shook his head. “Your ex was a fucking fool. Everything about you is beautiful, Cupcake. Your face, your body, your spirit. You’re perfect. You always have been, and we’ll show you before you leave here if you let us.”
I stared up at him, searching his face for signs that he wasn’t being honest with me. There was just openness there, something that shocked me. He was serious. He thought I was perfect. Clearly, he didn’t know me. “I’m concerned that the three of you developed vision loss with age.”
His expression was stern as he wrapped his arms around me. “Tonight isn’t about anything but talking, but you’re making it hard for me not to want to prove to you how sexy we all find you.”
Warren cleared his throat. “We have to talk about a lot before we go there.”
I looked at the three of them. “Go where?”
Andrew pushed my hair back from my face and held it in his fist at the back of my head. His eyes stroked over my neck and throat before he leaned closer and met my eyes. “Here.”
My heart pounded like a jackhammer as he ran his tongue up my throat and then held his mouth a breath away from mine. I held my breath and waited, eager for him to kiss me. It didn’t make any sense. There were three of them, two of them watching me act wantonly for their brother, but it just felt natural with them.
Andrew ran his tongue over my lips and then nipped my lower one. His eyes devoured me as I tried to inch my way closer. Wiggling in his lap to give him more of me, he gripped my hips and held me still. My chest rose and fell quickly and I strained forward to kiss him, but he shifted away. When I pouted, he grinned wickedly and took my mouth in a hungry kiss.
Kissing Andrew was different. He was demanding and took what he wanted. I felt almost helpless to his desire, and it was an intoxicating feeling. His hand moved to my hair and held it again, angling my head where he wanted it. The slight tug of my hair was something I’d never known I could like, but I was learning a lot of new things about myself.
I felt myself being lifted and gasped as Andrew carried me with one hand on my ass. I locked my legs around his waist and held onto him tightly. Warren and Lucas followed as he carried me into the bathroom and put me down in front of the mirror.
Instinctively, I cringed away from it. I didn’t want to see myself next to the three of them. They were perfect specimens, almost alien in their perfection. And they were making me feel sexier.
Andrew turned me around and held me against his front, my back pressed tightly against him. His big arms were like steel wrapped around me and I was locked there, unable to escape the floor-length mirror in front of us. When I squeezed my eyes shut, he growled against my ear and nipped my neck.
