Leaning down, I sniff at the dented pillow beside mine.

The scent of firewoods drifts into my nostrils, assuring me that the hot, explosive sex with Damon hadn’t been a dream. I’d really gone to sleep clinging to him last night.

Grabbing my phone, I check the time.

“Shit!” I mutter, seeing that it’s already past nine.

Hopping off the bed, I quickly grab some clothes and hurry into the bathroom downstairs for a shower.

It takes a while to clean up the mess between my thighs. Once I’m done with my shower, I hurry with combining my hair and getting dressed.

I’m about to move toward the door when my gaze falls on the mirror.

My lips part slightly as I take in my reflection. My cheeks are glowing with health. I don’t even have to bother with makeup because my lips look naturally pink and plump. I blink, noticing how thick and dark my lashes have grown.

I’m astonished at the stark difference in my appearance from before. There’s no more doubt in my mind. I’m a fucking omega! While I’m happier than I’ve ever been, I wish I could’ve retained something from my old life.

Almost unconsciously, I glance down at my phone.

The time display on the screen immediately reminds me of how late it is. Brushing away all stray thoughts from my head, I race down to the kitchen to make breakfast for Julian.

I nearly skid along the floor as I come to a sudden stop at the kitchen’s threshold.

Four tall figures are already gathered in the room. As if in a pre-coordinated move, they all turn toward me in unison.

“Hi,” I squeak, looking at all four of my mates.

Slowly walking in, I take in the spread that’s laid out before me. Dishes of pancakes, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and pastry cover the dining table.

The scent of freshly brewed coffee wafts into my nostrils, making me inhale deeply. I can’t believe they’ve gotten everything ready without any help from me.

“I can’t believe you’re all here,” I say, hugging Raiden who’s standing closest to me.

“The worst is over. Things won’t be so hectic anymore,” says Caleb. “We can finally allow ourselves to breathe.”

“Yeah,” Julian drawls. “They’ll finally have the time to eat, sleep and shit at home.”

A snort escapes me.

“I have something for you,” says Raiden.

I step away and glance up at him curiously.

“It’s those pills you wanted,” he says. “I think it’s better to experiment with them on an empty stomach.”

Julian comes forward to stand next to me and slings an arm around my shoulder. “I’m having one too.”

“Are you sure?” I ask, looking up at him. “What if you get sick?”

He shrugs. “If I stay unaffected, I’d have a chance to land a fist in Callahan’s face. You go for his balls. I’ll go for his teeth.”

“That’s my girl. And, my guy,” Damon grins and winks at us.

I glance at the breakfast spread before me. A pang of regret washes over me as my stomach groans with hunger. I desperately hope I don’t react to the drug. It’d be a shame to miss all this delicious food.

“We could do this another time,” says Raiden with an understanding look.

“What?”
